What turntables do you use? Pictures would be nice as well :-)

Rangda, do the instructions or Mark recommend what lube to put on the main bearing? SAE viscosity or mineral/synthetic based on temperature. I am 25-35 deg C all the year round and very humid. SME maintenance was to put a drop of 3-in-1 annually on the motor pulley (a slot is provided for the oil to flow down).

Just took delivery of a Döhmann Helix 2

Beautiful table in every aspect!

Now you have me intrigued. The Minus-K component to the deck; I'm really curious only because I own two of their isolation platforms but have not seen anything like this on their web-site. Is this something that Minus-K developed specifically for the Döhmann Helix 2?

Gorgeous table. Enjoy!

The outside is coated with mineral oil. A generous amount is included, at once per year it's probably a 20+ year supply. The bearing ball is coated with teflon grease, and very little of that is supplied so you (we) will definitely need more. There is a picture of it in the insert, not having much luck finding it at US locations except for this one:

Actually it is on the Minus-K web site. The Helix 1 has a special version of the BM-8 integrated; the Helix-2 has a version of the BM-10.

Thank you rangda. Fortunately for me, Finish-Line products are easily available where I am in Singapore. In fact I use Finish Line on my foldie. Your posts have given me much confidence to do my own setup. Once again, thank you for your detailed post at Hoffman.

Yes, that's what I thought. It's a special version which Minus-K custom built for Dohmann turntables.

Thanks.
