Lukasz Has Done It Again

This all seems rank amateur.

My design features 88 triodes, 36 pentodes and 22 rectifiers. All are virtually non-obtanium collected since 1920 by a Japanese audiophile who amazingly still lives. The filament transformers weigh 298 KG.

That's only per chassis. It's a dual mono design, naturally.

Bias and filament voltage are controlled by a independent AI running on an Asimov inspired Multi-VAC computer.

Its production volume of zero makes its unobtainium status hugely desirable to audiophiles worldwide.

However, I have all the parts to build a pair, and it can be made real for 21 million Bitcoin.

Don't miss this opportunity.

Tongue in cheek, of course;)

NOBODy, but really nobody is suggesting to roll tubes, for me it is kind of like a slap in the face. And then 90% of our repairs is due to rolling gone wrong. It is VERY cheap not to roll and enjoy the stock tubes forever.
No slap in the face from me, I always likes the KT88's in my system and I have shared that with several of you. The rectifiers that come with all units are no slouch either. Now, with this design triodes are no longer a factor...Very interesting...

What I meant is that: the new dac is not even officially announced, it is not selling till late winter, noone has even seen it or heard it - and YET there are already plans for some exotic unapproved tubes, totally crazy adapters,

Very valuable input

OK, fair enough. One more model from the wish list-

Horizon 360 with no volume control- fixed output?
That's the New DAC except it's not the Horizon

Any chance of a Genya Plus fitted with Taiko XDMI interface?
The Poseidon DAC is what you would be looking for here. Marty did a nice writeup of the Poseidon with Olympus on this forum.

Haha point taken lampi has always been a bit special in my heart my friend because of the possibilities of tube rolling and the TRP variants released in the past.

Btw you mentioned in response to my wishlist that the rectifier sockets will have selectable 5v and 4v voltages, the spec sheet doesn't look like that's the case, confirming on this one:). If this is in play makes sense also to install the yanamote genius socket that can do both ux4 and B4 in one socket? No more adaptors for the rectification section

I know also this is out of the range of this new dac but maybe for the next big dac we can see large triodes used for the rectification section like 2 211s or 845s used . Anyway let's not distract from the new dac coming, really really excited on the one coming and can't wait to see pics

When dacs first came out , no volume control and just spidif too.
Lampi has been at this as long as I had my first dac not in a CD player .
Lampi is truly a pioneer in DA conversion and has always moved in ways no one did . It's why his company has been a leader all this time .
Constantly pushing to new ideals and it's done his way by trying and succeeding in trials at his factories.
Tubes yield magic why who knows but no one can say they don't add a type of audio euphoria . I love SS power but you need some finesse somewhere .
The horizon is a mountain top no doubt . And now there is a new mountain he has climbed and planted a flag , I think it's why he loves skiing.
Best to all the lampi folk and lampiNA . Great things happen to great people
Enjoy .

This is the pre production, unpainted prototype next to the Horizon . Just to give you some perspective.
