The Grid Protector, the EMI Protector and The Allocator By Schnerzinger-In My System and I’m Blown Away

Hi ..... my first post in this forum.
I've been following Steve's new Zellaton speaker thread, after following this thread initially.
This thread took me down the path of purchasing the Grid and EMI protectors.
The Grid came first and the EMI a couple of months later.
I've used Stack Audio footers on a lot of my equipment with great success.
When the Grid protector came along I had 4 spare Stack Audio CSA1's available so I put them under it.
When the EMI protector arrived I had 3 CSA1's available and they went under it.
Like everyone else I enjoyed the update immensely.
I found the Grid brought more detail and the EMI naturalness, to the sound.

Now I'm getting to the point of the post.
I recently bought a LPS for my video processor and I was getting a lot of noise from the LPS.
So I borrowed my 7 CSA1's from my Schnerzinger kit to isolate the video processor and LPS.
This did reduce the LPS noise significantly.
But what I also found that my music system, without the Stack Audio footers under the Schnerzinger kit, lost a lot.
It lost bass leading to a lack of authority.
The sound was still there but I couldn't enjoy it the same, it didn't keep my interest, there was something lacking.

Yesterday I received 7 more footers to replace the ones I borrowed earlier from the Schnerzinger components.
Now the music regained it's authority, calmness, imaging and naturalness again.
In hindsight I am really surprised at how much the Stack Audio footers bring to the Schnerzinger sound.
Like most upgrades you only notice it when it is removed from the system

I strongly encourage any other Schnerzinger owners to test the footers with these products.
For me they are now an essential part of the Schnerzinger equation.

(I'll probably add a fourth to the EMI protector just to keep it the same as the Grid protector.)
Interesting. These are footers under the Schnerzinger units?

Get rid of the PSUs and use battery power instead and you’ll find another big improvement.

Now about your LPS for your video processor: I am using a Farad Super10 on my Lumagen 5348 and it’s a huge difference vs the Teddy Pardo LPS I had before.

Honestly, getting rid of “wall wart” PSUs, even if they are on a different circuit in your media room, should be the first thing to be improved.

More details on what replaced the walwarts would be helpful.
Not sure what @seatrope is doing but I posted here about the batteries I bought to power the Schnerzinger products. Huge difference, low cost upgrade.

It was my mistake and corrected the typo

I bought 6 of these and awaiting the Reflector to put another few in use

What did you think, Steve?
BTW, power consumption is minimal - I've put about 50-100 hours on mine and the batteries still have all LEDs lit.

It is very impressive indeed

Purchased a couple of the specified DC battery packs (yb1203000), for the Schnerzinger components.
I take it as follows:-
The battery pack can side alongside the Schnerzinger protector.
One of the two male DC connectors plugs into the Schnerzinger.
Obviously the battery pack needs charged before use.
One query, can the battery pack be switched off when the system isn't in use, so prolonging the battery charge, or is it recommended to just leave it on and recharge the battery pack when required?
Approximately how long does a fully charged battery pack power the Schnerzinger for?

I turn mine off when not in use. Zeotrope so far has 50-100 hours without a recharge. I think he turns his off as well

I've re-read the later part of the thread today as it's been a while since I visited it.
I've concerns about post 712 that mentions polarity.
(But you also want to ensure that the barrel connector polarity is the same as the wall wart polarity. If you buy the same brand I got, I’m sure it will be fine; but if you have a voltmeter, it doesn’t hurt to check anyway.
Set it to measure DC voltage and put one probe inside the barrel and one on the outside.
)
I'm not technical but I'm wondering whether this is an issue I need to be aware of before using the battery packs.
I'm in the UK and we use a different electrical system to the US that only uses the 2 pin system where I believe the polarity comes into play.
In the UK it's a three pin, (cable) system, live, neutral and earth.
Perhaps Zeotrope can comment on this?
I obviously don't want to damage my two expensive Schnerzinger products.

This is DC not AC power, so it’s standard globally. @sheridd2, you will be fine just plugging in the DC barrel connector of the battery pack; but if you want to be extra cautious, check the polarity of your chosen battery pack to ensure it matches the output from the Schnerzinger power supply. Or, just buy the same brand of battery that I am using.
