The day of the jackal series is good. Detailed like the book and the 1970s movie (the one with Bruce Willis was crap).

Won’t say it is great but a good thriller to keep you engaged

Edward Fox was much better.

Yrs that’s what I meant the 1970s one. That movie was good. The series started well then deviates to add episodes

The Studio on Apple TV has good funny dialogues. First episode is ok the next two were great. Has got Scorsese, Ron Howard, many Hollywood personalities in funny sequences

We tried The Studio but gave up. I thought Seth Rogan’s bumbling around on the set when they were trying to capture “The Shot” was too much.

Adding to this list:

The City is Ours - the better mafia version of Mobland,

and Dexter Resurrection - 6 episodes in, as good as peak Dexter (season 3 and 4).

I have to watch The City is Ours as I loved Mobland

Dexter remains amongst my all time favorites. This year is best ever

I'll second The City is Ours. Same vein as Mobland, but even better.
Are you watching it in the US: if so on what service? Asking because Google doesn't indicate anything but a BBC. UK service, but maybe I've missed something. Txs

Can't remember if I replied before:

Chicago Med
Chicago PD
Blacklist
Blue Bloods
Disney Star Wars franchises

Not so much in the way of shows. An occasional art film, drama, or documentary. I seem to simply not be compelled enough by the story line or character interplay to get through any series (my own personal affliction :) ).

For me, not all of course, but so many, are so formulaic by necessity of the format time frame.

To draw a contrast, listening to music well resolved, not unlike reading a book in some respects, allows enough space for my mind to be free to create imagery in the dialogue of the performance, or beyond. Often music listening even takes me to a place to creative problem solving or no (little) active thinking at all. More like meditation. Acknowledge and release.

we looked everywhere yesterday and could not find The City is Ours. Supposedly on Prime but not there . Looked on HBO Max...not there. Apple + not there.

According to Google no plans for US viewing, it is only on some BBC UK platform

Yes...I read that as well. We loved Mobland so if this is better we are all in

Andor 2- starts slow but ended up great

Severance S2- I gave up after the season. too weird just to be weird and a story that didn’t do anything from e2 to e8. And all of that for a generic love conquers all ending.

Paradise- love Sterling Brown, but he couldn’t save this cool concept but badly written network style show

Silo- best sci fi show on tv, great S2

Wheel of Time S3- too bad it was just canceled as it hit its stride in S2 and was the best fantasy show on tv (way better than Rings of Power)

Bear S4- used to be the best show on tv, but floundered in S3 and was only a little better in S4. The final episode was just Emmy bait- gross.

I did not like Severance first few episodes, and Paradise is just poor.
