Season 4 just dropped and with it another of my favorite TV episodes of all time. If you aren't watching this show or have not gotten into it I can highly suggest it. Its got a lot of different things going on within it but its not an action show or some mystery. The characters and the portrail of them is IMO truly excellent and it has some incredible writing. I am a sucker for great dialogue and character development. Try Season two "forks" I believe episode 7. I think this is an incredible episode and one I make every employee watch. I just started Season 4 and the episode scallop was also incredible but it won't stand on its own if you aren't watching the series.

We finished the Bear on the weekend and I have mixed feelings for the season. Some of the writing was excellent as the continue to develop the characters. Just as season 2 excelled as the Team learned at other restaurants it was ruined by the Christmas dinner episode. This season again the Jamie Lee Curtis character basically ruined the season for me. A complete waste of a storyline.

I am not sure what they are doing with Sydney's character season by season. In seasons 1 and 2 she may have been the strongest character on the show. In season 4 they had her acting like a child for most of the season.

I like the show a lot but some episodes are great and others are pure tripe,

i haven't watched all of season 4. I get what you are saying and some of the neurosis from a few characters is challenged for sure. I think both Sydney and Carmy are very childish. My favorite character is Richie and Forks maybe the best 45 minutes of TV I ever saw.
Its not an easy show to binge watch IMO.

I liked both the Christmas dinner episode in season 2 and Sugat’s birthing scene in season 3. JLC plays her role very well.

Having said that, having her dominate more than 1 episode each season wouldn’t fit the shows focus.

The show has been heavily focused on each character’s persona since season 3. Season 4 is more of the same.

Last season’s scene with Tina and Mikey may have been the best 10 minutes of TV series ever.

So i watched all of season 4. This is not an easy series to watch from an emotional perspective. It is at times hard to watch. I think however that for me , i like character development more than I like shit blowing up and crashing.
I think this show has had a few truly amazingly written and performed episodes that I found mind blowing. My issue is that the series seems to have gotten more and more into the almost mental illnesses of many of the characters. I understood family dynamics and even some family disfunction but I have to assume the writers of this had some seriously screwed up childhoods.
