No way I will win an argument with my nutritionist -- my wife is an R.D.
A quick skim of the article indicates my wife is on top of all that; I am not sure the majority of R.D.'s are outdated as the article implies. A lot of continuing education is required to maintain her license. I have noticed she is less supportive of "nutritionists" in general as they are not licensed and from what I have seen tend to be much more "diet of the month" types than R.D.'s. Of course, I am rather biased, and had best remain so.
