Just got my bill for January's heath insurance, it more than doubled to $733, thanks.

Instead of "The fog of war"
We have "The fog of healthcare"

Instead of "The fog of war"
We have "The fog of healthcare"

And if Romney, who coincidentally introduced the exact same health care plan in MA, won, the most unpopular war wouldn't be in Afghanistan but Iran.

FYI, our system wasn't dysfunctional, we had/have the best hospitals in the world, the best research in the world, and some of the best doctors in the world. 90% of Americans had health insurance and 80% of which were happy with their policies. Most importantly we had the LIBERTY to choose to buy or opt out. But I guess you can call it dysfunctional now that the government is involved. A few years back I spent some time in Australia and set up a company there, beautiful country, rich in resources and culture but Liberty is something that you haven't had for a while. We're trying to hang on to what's left of our constitution.

Good day mate,

david

Assuming your numbers are correct then about 30 million people don't have access to " best hospitals in the world, the best research in the world, and some of the best doctors in the world." How many of them exercised their LIBERTY to opt out I wonder?

As an aside, what liberty are we lacking down here in Oz?

Isn't this plan of Morphin' Mitt originally a Republican idea, brought forth as an alternative to Hillarycare back when...course at the time if I remember right, conservatives called it the best thing since sliced bread. Now it's called by the same group a socialist movement led by a demagog. Interesting how that happens.

Not my numbers, published by CBO and they won't change under this law either. If the plan was only to help that 10% then they could have done it differently without taking over everything. obamacare isn't healthcare and it's a law that passed without any scrutiny. You might have a wonderful system for you in OZ but it's different here.

I take that back I was there in the early 80's working, it's a different America now...

... but it's different here...
Indeed it is. By almost any measure you look at our health care is among the worst in the developed world, and it is clearly the most expensive (by a wide margin).

Reading the article, watching that ABC report and taking note of Steve's post, I am completely floored by these charges/bills. 60% of bankruptcies can be attributed to these? That's insanity. I thought this was even more insane:

In April, University of California San Francisco researchers set out to find out how much an appendectomy cost among 19,000 patients in California. An appendectomy varied in price from $1,529 to $182,955, the researchers wrote in the study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine.

It appears the cost is as stable as cables in audio. I wonder if the tools were cryo'd.

In my opinion, the cure to the whole healthcare mess would be a sudden explosion of critical thinkers.

A random quote that came to mind for some reason...

Since the obama is the best argument against obamacare, let's defer and attack Romney.

Which measures are you looking at? In any case its all going downhill from now...

Where is/was this attack on Romney?

Any measures you want, they are all worse than average, most much worse. It's been going downhill for years. Don't you think something should be done about that?

Maybe its time to consider looking at what others are doing. Take the best of what they have and make it better.

Question

Question: Does anyone on this site truly believe that the leaders of the USA truly care about the general public?

Mep was wise to bring up the wars that the leaders just throw us into [NO public vote on the decision].

zz.

Don't need to answer this do I!

Please, produce some data of these measures and not just a blog with leftist talking points. Of course there's great, bad, mediocre and **** quality doctors and service providers around and I'm not arguing with extremely high costs associated with our healthcare today, I just don't see obcare fixing any of it. I have nothing against improving our system everything can be made better if you know what you're doing.

My argument is against a law passed without anyone reading it and one that's so intrusive in our lives and its proponent is a major liar on record. This is what you on the left don't want to admit or face.

..give it up david. Arguing pro-conservative politics here is akin to playing pick up sticks with your butt cheeks..

Now that's funny Gavin. Sounds like a fraternity initiation ritual.
