Zero Distortion: Tango Time

found mine on Discog a couple years ago in Europe. paid over $200 for it plus shipping.

it is a wonderful recording.
You certainly have all the goodie Mike. :)
Not only you invest so much in hardware but also software.

Howie is just getting cheap Mike. I bought mine on discog around $150. He is the one who told me what the record is after I watched the video of XVX.

It is very different kind of presentation with the Gamma/ML3 vs the XVX/Goldmund. I wish I could show the different of two videos but unfortunately the other one is private. The XVX video caught my ears in the way creating the sense of "see everything" of that venue right there in front of you..the sound scene is unbelievable really. I could be very wrong. But mine feels a bit more walking entering "into" the venue from the back of the hall. The energy of this recording is quite something and with horns radiating subs moving air. The listening sensation is very satisfying to my ears and my skin. This I cannot be wrong describing.
Go ahead and post it Tang.

Here is a great sound from XVX on the English Dance.

Pls be smart and find way to look at positive angle when listening to video.

I recorded my videos at around 5 meters away. The above video seems at same distance or less.

I know you are trying to imply I am dumb. So the positive angle I chose was to look at this as background score for Michael Mann's independence day 5

I would say around 12 feet may be?

These are the big boys not the XVX.
The Wamm has a lot more mid range membrane surface .
I think ( that is just a thought ) , the xvx you can use as stand alone more so then the Wamm.
Thanks for posting everybody .
These systems you dont hear at a local dealer in the netherlands

Ps Regarding the Wamm vid it does sound there is some excessive bass energy , but that might be the ¨ phone¨ recording , i dont know

I like mocking you. But no I was not implying you. It was for everyone when listening to a video in general not particularly this XVX video.

@audioquattr. Your system sounds great on video. I listened to your video like 20 times to see where your system better than mine. I found one too. Good thing we have some common gears and vinyl pressing so less variable are in play. Show them your big gun. :)

This is a very interesting post, Tang. First you write that you have a new impression of Magico speakers from hearing my videos, and here you post that listening to Gian's video convinced you to change your room acoustics. Boy, for some people, the impact that these system videos can have seems quite big. Good for you for having the open mind and searching for something better.

I agree with you about room treatments sometimes being too much and overdampening the room. I removed the last treatment from my listening room, a 2' X 2' panel behind the listening seat, last week and am now experimenting with the angles of the wooden louvers on my windows. I guess those are a bit like a diffraction device. DDK told me it is all about managing the energy in the room. Removing those TubeTraps from my room really opened my ears. I am now simply using the furniture and rug for sound treatments. Al M. has started to do the same thing with a few of his tubes and panels, but not all yet.
Hi Peter. In system development, I use video as a tool to 1) keep track of my previous sound at different stages. You can easily recall what you used to hear in specific without relying solely on hearing memory and notes. 2) find from other system area that is better than my system. Then I have a "target" to shoot at if I want to.

If Marc really wants to impress Zus and trans fi and terminator onto people, the writing is on the wall

Stimulated by Mike's post on Bernstein's Mahler Symphony 2, I have been buying records on Mahlar and Wagner. Mike said Bernstein's Box Set is great so I put in the basket, haven't hit buy yet. Instead I bought a few other different composers to explore. I find the performance of Stokowski great too. And the pressing also sounds good. The label is RCA. It is a double discs album. I will put catalog number on later.

That great tang, the quieter part where you stopped playing it is also very good to show off the flow, the rise and fall.

Is it possible for you to record the whole first movement and post?

Sounds good tang .
But id like to hear some tape as well :) , you have an awesome tape machine
I forgot to answer your question. The guy who suppose to put the head block for me had a bad car accident so could not come. I don't know why my audio technicians have bad luck these days. My tonearm guy also had a fetal car accident. Almost died. Now in rehabilitation. So no tape yet. And my plan to fine tune speaker driver position has to wait.
