What's the most recent piece of audio equipment you have purchased and when?

WADAX Studio Player, arrived about 2 weeks ago. Completely revised my appreciation of what's possible with digital audio and most certainly provides the finest digital sound quality I have experienced in my home.

Taiko Extreme server, incoming........
I am interested in why you selected Taiko. The build looks to be as its name implies “extreme” and the reviews are amazing. However, it is really expensive. I don’t mind dropping some coin where there is a good return. I am looking to upgrade my server to feed a DCS Rossini DAC and clock. Aurender has some interesting models. Did you compare them to Taiko? Thanks.

upgraded to the burmester 159s

I bought a pair of Yamaha NS5000's for the tv room 06/25. For my main system it was moving from a Hegel H590 to The mac kit in 02/23.

I never had a chance to compare Aurender to Taiko in my system. I have compared both at shows. Honestly I was leaning towards a Aurender W20sa, not because of sound, but because the Taiko was out of my price range at the moment. I ended up getting a deal on a used Taiko that was too good to pass up. I feel extremely lucky to have gotten the Taiko as the sound is amazing paired with my Aries Cerat Helene. This is probably end game for me.........

Just picked up yet another set of ZMF headphones, this time the Caldera in limited edition stabilized wood. I already have another Caldera (and other ZMF headphones as well) but this was too pretty to pass up.

An original owner McIntosh MR78 FM tuner, that some say is the best FM tuner ever made  No matter. Great shape, totally works and sounds outstanding! At $800, it seemed to be a more reasonable purchase than the identical model available from an online seller as..'New in the Box' for $9999
Added this to my 'Symbol made for McIntosh rack' since none of my other gear is M..... gotta love those lights!

Bricasti M19 SACD Transport. Purchased 3 weeks ago. Sent my Bricasti M1 Series 2 DAC to the factory for installation of the RJ45 I2S input which will allow the DSD signal to flow without any alteration, and it is due back today after Bricasti's normal rapid turnaround. Looking forward to comparison to AES output!

Replaced GIK room treatment with Artnovion.

I bought a used SS amp for $700 that was a total fail. I bought it for a variety of reasons. To test power. To fiddle with Biamping. To understand the whole of my main system and room to help tune. A different perspective. It sucks enough it really is good for nothing.

I should have bought a new VTV class D amp. I don't know what I was thinking. At least with the VTV if I didn't like it, I could return it. I threw away seven hundred dollars.

I think we all have done similar, on more than one occasion! (You have got by cheaply if that was the first time).

Such is what I was referring to when I compared our absurd continued efforts and expenditures, despite each expenditure never fully satisfying, with the Myth of Sisyphus.
