I haven't heard it for a long time, but I'm surprised how good the recording is. Dynamically excellent, clean voice, no emphasis on s/f sounds

 

 

Chet Baker and Art Pepper in Playboys. Magnificent mono vinyl (all great jazz recordings from this era are in mono vinyl). Played back on a fully restored Garrard 301 using a Miyajima Zero Infinity cartridge.

but yours does not look like the one from “that era” 1950s it is the reissue from 2010 or after?

It can be very good sounding anyway, but I agree to (at least try) to point out if there is an original or a reissue. Orignals from the 50’s is quite difficult to get a hold of.

For monos that is important. Especially as he is using the Miyajima cart, which has different stylus sizes for old and new releases.
