What's Spinning Tonight?

Simple: Analog r.a.d.i.o. from my vintage Marantz Stereophonic Tuner.

Allman Brothers: Live at Filmore East ----- ripped from the remastered CD layer of the SACD.

I love this album. Duane Allman was the man. So tasty and so sad he left us so soon.

Now that is interesting...first you ripped the CD layer. Second, how is the remastered CD vs the original? the reason i ask is i have their greatest hits album, and was thinking about getting the remastered version. On my system, many of the Blue note and Classical (and Grateful Dead) remastered have been dramatically better. But in 1-2 cases, i think the "remastering" was just a marketing ploy...different but not necessarily better. thanks for your advice!

I've been able to rip the CD layer on all of my hybrid SACD's. In every case, I have felt that the remastered CD layer is a significant improvement over the original CD. In truth, sometimes the difference between the remastered CD layer and the SACD is extremely subtle. The remastered CD layer of the Allman Brothers Filmore East sounds great to me and is a significant step up from the original CD. If you get it, let me know what you think.

Silver's Blue - Horace Silver Quintet
Double Portrait - Charlap/Rosnes
Chiaroscuro - Towner/Fresu

One of the better albums my 18 year-old daughter has turned me on to.:)

I'll compensate by listening to some Glenn Miller, later.
