The T1610s are $2,200 USD each, top level 300bs are fetching close to $1,000. The beasts from the deep are up and running, and surprisingly, driving the 101Es. I was of mixed mind about this pairing, yes they are 140 watts per channel, yes they are push pull but the MBLs are 82db and offer a 4 ohm load (with relatively kind phase angles, thank gosh). Well as Gomer Pyle would say...surprise, surprise. The Kronzillas drive the MBLs well and produce a midrange magic that is cathedral like. I tested the KRs with the death track (for bass) the DCD Spiritchaser rip of Song of the Stars. It is frankly amazing the bass the KR produce, very lifelike and real, not tight fisted like a brute SS amp can do, (I'm thinking AVM MA-8s, or my monster Krells), but very very good. The stage is broad and expansive and oh my, so involving. The sound draws you in. This is the hallmark of the KRs. Magic.
I will be pairing the KRs with other state of the art speakers so stay tuned.
