Von Schweikert, Rockport, Magico

I'm also in Houston and have known Johnny at 3mA for some time, great guy. I'm building a new home with a dedicated room and I'm interested to hear about the Artnovian Acoustics products you mentioned.

Dave
I don't use Artnovian. I built all of mine from a design provided by an acoustician. Best money I've ever spent on my setup. I previously had a design from Artnovian, but they had such long delivery times, I put in competing panels instead. They never sounded great, so got replaced with the current system. I'm super pleased. Maybe we have met at 3mA?

I'm going to wait to get in the room before I apply treatment, I like to research everything before I try it out. I'd like to hear about the acoustician you used, my room is similar to 3mA, a bit shorter but I only have one stereo. Possible, always willing to meet like minded people, let me know if you're going by and i'll try to make it happen.

I finalized my Artnovion order on September 19, 2025. With the exception of the bass traps, everything was delivered on the 26th. The bass traps are on backorder and should be delivered in two weeks.

I should have specified that my dealings with Artnovion were about 5 years ago…

As we are on the subject of room treatment, I have been spending a considerable amount of time learning about a very special room treatment product from Italy, created by Igor Fiorini, an inventor, concert musician, recording engineer, music label owner, and high-end audio distributor.

My first encounter with Igor was at Axpona, where he introduced Damon Von Schweikert and me to his innovative approach to creating harmonically tuned wood room panels. My subsequent encounter was in the Stenheim suite at Munich 2025, where the large Stenheims, powered by Boulder gear, showcased a suite of Igor's top-level, hand-tuned acoustic panels, used on the side walls. Igor's philosophy is a simple one - most room treatments are subtractive (meaning they work to remove deleterious room effects). Our approach is entirely different in that Audy's panels are additive, adding natural harmonics and vibrancy to your room while simultaneously mitigating harmful effects.

My reference was the Stenheim room a year earlier, where the big Stenheims were powered by the darTZeel monos, and there was simply no comparison in terms of sound quality when compared to this year's room. I largely attribute this to Igor's room treatment and his help in setting up the room.

Hear This expects to have a few select dealer showrooms across the US set up for WBF members to experience later this year, and I will keep folks apprised in a dedicated post on them. In the meantime, there is no argument that a well-treated room can be the most valuable and best investment of all.

Intriguing product. And actually aesthetically attractive. Is this custom / by appointment only? I assume that's the case.

You may want to put Wilson Audio on your listening list
I've previously owned Sophia 3's, Sasha 1's, and Sasha 2's. Wilson Audio speakers are some of the most dynamics speakers I've owned, but now I prefer a different sound.

I'm currently running the 2150s, but may upgrade to a pair of 3060s, to bi-amp. Matthew assure me that is the ultimate, but I may make another visit to Boulder to see Jeff for his thoughts.
Always fun to visit Boulder and talk to Jeff but Matthew is quite right. I only have one 3060.

Once we are set up in a few locations, all will be welcome. Additionally, we may use them at a future show and post them accordingly.

I have used them in multiple locations and done a bunch of projects with Art Novion. I agree that there was a time that the lead times were extremely long but that is not the case the last year or so . A custom designed room from start to finish is approx 90 -120 days. Some of thids depends on the client and how specific they are on color and look but most of the jobs I did went very smoothly. The products are easy to install and can be very simple to very designer depending on what you require. In my new place I did two rooms , just basically , and not fancy since its a store and that overspending here is just wasteful.
They are easy to deal with and produce complete 3D renderings .

3ma Audio installed some of my Artnovion Acoustics panels yesterday. I'm still waiting for bass traps and a couple panels for the rear wall. The sonic and aesthetic differences are easily discernible. Changing from GIK to Artnovion is equivalent to a component change. Artnovion panels helps create a better sense of space, depth, and focus. Unfortunately, Artnovion Acoustics is relatively expensive compared to GIK Acoustics and some other Acoustic manufacturers.

May I suggest TIDAL Audio Contriva G3 Speakers?

Full disclosure… I am a TIDAL Audio Dealer.

I just purchased a pair of Von Schweikert VR 30's (with Foundation Bass) after a long search for an end game speaker. I auditioned Magico and Rockport as well, although not the specific models you are considering. I listened to a lot of great speakers, but for my tastes, the Von Schweikert's did everything I valued, and had some qualities that I did not hear with other brands.
Strong suits of the VR 30's are pinpoint imaging with the widest, deepest soundstage I heard of any speakers auditioned. Detail and resolution with the VR 30's is top notch, without sacrificing overall musicality and emotional involvement with the music which was critical for me. Too many speakers I listen to have incredible resolution, but over time, are not musically involving. Of course, your room acoustics has a lot to do with overall sound, but the adjustability of the Von Schweikert speakers with Foundation Bass and ambient tweeter controls was a big plus for me.
I only have about 300 hours on the speakers so far and I am still dialing things in, but the VR 30's have exceeded any expectations I had. I'll get around to posting more about the speakers as I live with them a bit more, but definitely put the VR 30's on your short list. The VR 50's would be a worth choice given your room size as well. James at Choice Audio in Minnesota was a great resource during my search and arranged a great audition with the Von Schweikert speakers. Gary and Damon at Von Schweikert are also extremely helpful and responsive to questions. Good luck with your search!
