Imagine your system next to this system, would it sound as dynamic?
For a video not too bad, but if my system would be reduced to such modest "paper cut-out" dynamics (at least as I hear over laptop and headphones), I would feel embarrassed.

18000 - 22000 gauss= 1.8- 2.2T different models görlichmagnetic field strength matters as well. If the cone is light but the magnet is weak then it won't have the acceleration to achieve high sensitivity. What is the native sensitivity of this driver? 90 or so dB? For example, the Supravox 215-2000 has a 7 gram MMS with a 1.9T field strength, culminating in a 99dB sensitivity, which is quite high for an 8 inch woofer. Surface area also matters for sensitivity and therefore dynamics.
This is what makes the 5 inch modified Lowther in my Hornings so interesting, very light light cone coupled to a 2.4T ALNICO magnet. 2.4T is huge (weighs 10KG because it isn't Nd) and as such gets 98dB from a 5 inch cone...almost unheard of without a horn.
You're judging videos based on what they sound like on a crappy laptop, a device you wouldn't normally use to listen to music, not very smart is it?So you want me to run the video through my allegedly dynamics-limiting speakers in order to see if it sounds more dynamic than my -- wait, drum-roll...., allegedly dynamics-limiting speakers, through which I should listen?
Wonderfully solid logic.

I suspect that you are describing a majority of respondents to these YouTube audio vids … Some posters recommend at least a decent pair of quality phones or quality IE’s , above even computer or sound bar speakers .

Who can blame him? A lot of solo piano recordings put me to sleep as well. But my biggest limitation is my dog. He likes to listen to my piano recordings and you will often hear him snoring in the background of a lot of videos.

Welcome to the video appreciation club Ron.Between what I hear in this video and my expectation bias about Altec/FLH I would expect that this system sounds very dynamic in-room.
Where are the losses coming from then? With that light weight, diameter (you said 10 inch, right?) and magnet field strength the driver should be high 90s, not low 90s. Something isn't right in the specs...91-92db
Unfortunately, there is no datasheet for these drivers online. This is my estimate; it could be higher.only this series double driver assemblyWhere are the losses coming from then? Horn tweeter...could be nice, although it looks like a rather inexpensive one. Overall system sensitivity is pretty high, so I would expect at least decent dynamics because of the doubled drivers and horn tweeter. What I like about those drivers is that they are pretty close to 'colorless' in the good sense of the word without losing liveliness at lower volumes. Drivers from other materials and other sandwiches I have heard seem to be too heavy and this makes them lose out at the low volume end of the spectrum. Anyway, I still don't see how a driver that light with that powerful of a magnet can have such a lowish sensitivity...Unfortunately, there is no datasheet for these drivers online. I can only say that the bass driver is aluminumfoil- hard foam, I really like it, it's fast, clean bass OK, below 30hz it runs out of steam, but the common problem with small drivers.Horn tweeter...could be nice, although it looks like a rather inexpensive one. You had Ensemble PA1's, kudos! They were good speakers for imaging, dynamics not so much compared to Tannoys or horns. My Ensemble Reference monitors with a Görlich mid-woofer (and KEF passive radiator in the back) were in fact less sensitive than my subsequent Reference 3A monitors. You had to turn up the volume control slightly more in order to get the same playback volume.
The speakers were very easy to drive, however. I could drive them with my old Audio Innovations Second Audio parallel push-pull triode monoblocks (15 W/ch) to rather high SPL with very good dynamics, which were positively commented on by visiting audiophiles.
The amps never made the impression that they ran out of steam, the speakers seemed to be an easy load on them. But it also depends on the actual driver composition of the speakers. A single 5 inch mid-woofer is apparently easier to drive than a larger woofer. I heard those amps on a floorstanding speaker with nominal 96 dB sensitivity but relatively large woofers, and they were positively "dying" on those speakers. It was a lifeless sound. What looks good on paper doesn't always work in practice.
