USB cable shootout: 8 cables tested

I am amazed by Signal project Andromeda usb cable, even better then Atlantis , and much better then AAI Estremo, comparing side by side. Even the owner of Estremo said Atlantis is better then Pi audio Ultimate and and better then AAI Estremo, then Andromeda usb came and beated all of of them in my system by bid margin, sooo musical, more depth, more realistic, more holographic, more analog sounding, unbelievable what this cable does. @Zappadaddy What does “better” mean or entail for you? Not much to work with in your statement without specifics as to what makes “better” for you about one cable vs. another.

Tonal effect: cool, neutral, warm? Between what and what is the cable being used?

Out of the box, the Estremo seems fairly accurate in some respects (drums) and bright in a digital sort of way for the rest, clear and clean, fast, good soundstage breadth and depth. More than that, and how that evolves is tbd.

Is there any reason for a USB cable rated over 2.0?

Was a high quality USB cable like something from the belkin pro series tested?

I should know better than to question the value of expensive esoteric cables on a cable forum but I am more them skeptical.

More liquid, wider scene, holographic, no agressivity at all without loosing high resolution and highs, full body with real instrument tembre, the best usb cable I have ever heard. We tested Estremo against this Atlantis, no contest in favour of Atlantis, the owner of Estremo said in my setup Atlantis is better, high praise from guy who has all top models of AAI, he is AAI freak. Then Andromeda usb came even better, I love Signal projects cables. I am awaiting more of them, rca and power cables.

Hi, everyone

I wanted to ask you guys: would it be wise for me to change my Shunyata Research Gamma USB to a David Laboga Emerald Mk2 USB?

Thanks in advance

Any experience on XACT Audio Phantom USB Cable?

...I have an AAI Estremo USB cable probably arriving timorrow for a 14 day trial.

Turned out the Estremo USB in my system was at the time the best I'd heard. Very good in all respects but one: it sounded (digitally) bright or, to put it another way, pitch elevated. Especially evident with piano (often electric sounding) and vibraphone.

Today, I received a used (demo) Signal Projects Statement Andromeda USB. Out of the box, this is a stunningly superior cable, in my experience comparable to the ~4K Shunyata Research Omega X. Except the Andromeda has a sense of presence, while the Omega was more laid back, distant, better for reading to than an active listening session. SP wrote me that the Andromeda is very warm. I don't like very warm - just a little bit - but so far it's far from that. Look forward to seeing what happens as it settles in.
