Tower vs bookshelf

Hello everyone, this is the first time that I have posted on this discussion forum. The question I have is: I have a medium sized living room but I have my TV, entertainment stand and speakers set over in the corner. I like the way it is set up but, with one problem. I have very limited room on the speakers I can use. I currently have a Pioneer Elite receiver, Bowers and Wilkins 684 S2 Tower speakers and a Bowers and Wilkins 600 series Center channel. It is a lot of speaker in a small space. They do sound good but I'm just wondering if I am restricting the potential of the speakers because they are in a small space. Would bookshelf speakers be better since it would give them more room to breathe and more space for the sound to bounce off of? Thanks in advance

Having them in a small space in no way restricts their performance, and they will provide fuller lower midrange and bass than bookshelf speakers even if crossed to a sub. The wall on the right does add reflections but that will be the same for bookshelves. On stands, the bookshelf speakers will likely take the same floor space as the towers.

If possible, you could pull the console out and angle it in (across) the corner to open it up a bit and provide better viewing and listening towards the center of the room.

It looks like a difficult space.
IMO - It is probably better to just love what you have if it fits and seems suitable.

If it was possible to pull out the speakers into the room, that might be worth a try?
And you can shove em back if the decor boss needs them to crawl back into their shell.
