Certaintly there is no answer to this loaded question and any opinion is bound to create contraversy. nevertheless it is a valid question. i think the best way to arrive at an answer for anyone considering a purchase is what flagship of what brand is best for me, money notwithstanding. i bought a Wilson Chronosonic XVX. Wilson has a lot of detractors and the XVx may not be the best in all categories. One of the main criticisms I hear is that Wilsons only sound good in the one central listening location but the fact is that 99.9% of all my listening is done solitary. and the fact of the matter is that Wilsons have very low distortion in all the respective categories of speaker prices. i wouldn't trade in my XVX for any other speaker regardless of price. personally i think because of the size of my room, an Alexx V would probably sound as good, but there is a certain satisfaction of owning the "best", if there is such a thing, that exceeds the sonics, and the dynamic capacity of my XVX is almost limitless. it simply cannot be overloaded. it just loafs in my room no matter the sound level and no matter the bass blast. so for me personally, it's the Wilson chronosonic XVX.
