Emile uses the totaldac in his demo room - am curious on this choice here Emile? keen on your thoughts and experience

We have 2 main systems active right now, tubed and solid state.

-Lampizator Pacific DAC - Alieno amplifiers - Alsyvox Caravaggio loudspeakers - 330m3 room
-Totaldac D1-12mk2 DAC - Audionet Stern/Heisenberg amplifiers - Magico A5 loudspeakers - 110m3 room

I do also listen to DXD and DSD recordings about 30% of the time, the Totaldac is limited to 24/192 and does not support DSD playback so I do have to regularly exchange it for the Aqua Formula.

Hi Emile,
Totaldac DACs can play DSD DoP when they have the DSD option.
The reclocker mk2 is also DSD DoP compatible, it lets DSD pass through in a bit perfect way.

I have Apl Hifi dsd mr mk2 dac using with Apl dtr mr player and Naim 552-500 combination. Is the Apl dac good for Taiko Audio SGM Extreme. I couldn't decide between Naim Nd55 and Taiko Audio SGM Extreme, and couldn't find any comparison between two.

Last week, I heard Taiko Extreme at Ultimate Audio Lisbon, with this APL dac and it was my preferred combination. Sorry, Naim wasn’t one of them, so I couldn’t compare.

Is there a target date for the release of the next version of TAS, meaning the first non_LMS one?

Just curious if it is eminent or 6-12 months away.

My understanding is that the next big release will not be built on top of Logitech Music Server.
There will be a Beta 2 version to iron out some of the annoying kinks. XD Player will load automatically when switching from Roon back to TAS.

The first prototype of the non LMS version passed its SQ test 3 weeks ago :)

It sounds better, how much one thinks it sounds better, well it's a case of YMMV. The more transparent a system is, the more you will hear a difference.

There is still a lot more to do, but now we know we a solid SQ base of code to build on top of

Great news. Let us know if you need some beta testers for the non-LMS version.

Hello All - I just received a couple of Taiko Extreme servers, and put one into the reference system and have been running just shy of 48 hours. Emile and Ed (EuroDriver) have been highly communicative and supportive as we enter this realm.

The Taiko replaced an Aurender N10 which is a great server, and the Aurender benefitted from a solid electrical and digital foundation that revealed better performance. With the foundation already in place, the Taiko was easily installed, and setup was a snap for playback via ROON.

The Extreme still can use some hours to bake, however, initial impressions really showed me how important the source is in digital despite running a very good brand of DAC, color me beyond impressed. Sound is delivered with more detail, and openness that sounds simply smooth. Take out the audio dictionary and find all the words describing positive emotions of hi fidelity playback that can be used in spades, that is how good the initial impression is at a cold start, out of the box.

Did you manage to disable Roon Radio?

If you view the queue by clicking the button I’ve circled in red, you will see the toggle for Roon Radio.

How do I delete an album from TAS that was ripped with dBPoweramp?

I have the Extreme's IP address as the path in dBPoweramp so it goes directly to the Extreme.

I didn’t even know that was an option.

I am so anal about tags that I am not sure I could do that. I always seem to find the need to change what comes out of dbpoweramp. It is a great option though.
