Hello everyone.

Are there any owners of the new SOTM SMS-2000 server and transport? It went on sale this summer, there are a couple of reviews in Japan, and that's it. I'm considering buying it. I'll be the first owner in my region. But I'd like to know if anyone has had a chance to listen to it. The maximum version costs $12,000 for the US. It was at the SOTM demo booth in Munich this year and received a lot of positive reviews. However, there are no real owner reviews yet.

SOTM is weird about their marketing, at least here in North America. It seems like they promoted their smaller sMS-200 and its variants (Neo, Ultra) quite a bit. Yet we rarely see anything about their higher models. I owned their sMS-1000SQ with the matching linear PSU maybe 10 years ago ($4-5k at the time if I recall correctly) and it was exceptional. Nobody else had ever heard of it, even though they loved it when they tried it in my system. I eventually moved on but would be willing to give them another go. I had not even heard of this sMS-2000 though.

I use an SOtM sMS-200 in my desktop system, purchased in 2017, upgraded to Neo status a couple of years ago. In that time, there have been many firmware updates, all free of charge, four of which improved sound quality. The latest Eunhasu updates included Diretta and Qobuz Connect. SOtM is a great company, very responsive and innovative. I expect their new sMS-2000 will be cutting edge.
