Sony on Tuesday announced the world’s largest smartphone with a full HD display. In line with rumors, the Xperia Z Ultra is equipped with a massive 6.4-inch full HD 1080p display, compared to most phablets that have a 720p resolution, and Sony’s Triluminos technology for richer and more vibrant colors. The handset also features a new quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 4G LTE connectivity, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD slot and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Xperia Z Ultra is both waterproof and dust-resistant, and it supports pen input for note-taking, however a stylus is not included. Sony’s latest flagship smartphone is scheduled to launch in the third quarter this year. .......

My son just opted for Samsung Note 2. The "phablet" category is getting firmed up as a solid section of the mobile market.

Love the build quality. Recentyly, I had a chance to play with the latest Sony tablet and the build quality and execution is impeccable. Cannot say the same about Samsung.

I wonder if they improved the display vs the Experia Z.
