I've been able to audition the Thetas via the cable company. I love the RCA's. The Gamma RCA's definitely lean dark and thick, the Thetas are much faster, more resolving but leave plenty of meat on the bones. I would recommend just going right to the Thetas on here.
The Theta power cable is another story. Shunyata started adding silver at the Theta level of the PC's and I ended up preferring the Gamma NR (which is all copper). I thought the dark/thick Gamma NR PC with the speed of the Theta RCA's was a nice pairing throughout various gear. Theta NR is a bit better in my Luxman SQ-N10 amp than either DAC (Schiit Yggdrasil and Chord DAVE), but my plan is to get another Gamma NR to use it and then tube roll if it ends up too dark.
Would love to see a Theta NR Copper Edition.
I had the hilarious experience of putting the the Theta NR in a source component and it was like the music was on a caffeine high. Too sharp, too piercing, all attack and no decay. This is probably why they advise to use the Venom NR in digital sources!

Aren't the dCS components known for being warmer/smoother than either the Yggdrasil or (especially) the Chord DAVE? Maybe that is why. I haven't had the chance to audition them. The Bartok has been tempting me lately.
Again, the Theta NR is just fine in the amp, but I don't care for it in source components. And I think that is more because of the material used, than it being a Shunyata thing. It's just frustrating their copper-only PC offerings stop at the Gamma line.
