Samsung buyers vs. Apple

I always found it odd that Samsung claim in its ads that older people buy iPhones. It just didn't resonate with reality in my mind. Now there is data that says their claims are false. The Apple buyers are wealthier, younger and more educated according to latest research:

It is not a huge difference but still, it is the opposite of what Samsung claims in its ads.

We just got Samsungs. Everyone at Verizon, including some ex-Apple types, pushd us that way. Among colleagues, there is a groundswell moving from Apple to Samsung/Andriod. I found a few Apple hold-outs, some folk I greatly respect, but by and large the new Androids seem to have one most folk over. Certainly my trials led to Samsung. Opinions, vary, natch.

The data is true to my (perceived) reality, in my country.

Samsung took the place of the chinese knock offs, with the lame-o Android 2.x-powered models. Yes, they still sell Android phones with 2.3 on them. And no, you can't update them.

OTOH, you've got the "gotta have the biggest screen" kind of folks, that'll pay more for the immense screen, to see Facebook with bigger letters.
