You're welcome Lloyd!
Infact, when the GAT was introduced, I had more or less already settled with my ACT2 and was enjoying it very much. Also changed several amps during that time, and still the ACT2 remained as good. When I actually brought in the GAT, it looked quite fancy but it didn't make me so overjoyed. The improvement was definitely there no doubt but for the price, it was a huge expense, especially in $AUD, the standard GAT is over 20 grand! and the S2 version is nearly 30 plus! So with that in mind, I carefully selected what I was going to upgrade with the ACT2 and they did a mighty superb job of it. Such that, it actually was somewhat equal to the GAT in overall performance except in name. And so I was very happy with this until...
The GATS2- wow! What an outstanding SOTA musical instrument!
BTW- I just noticed for the 100th time that you actually have a Gryphon ss amp, oh boy! with that combination of a GATS2, I don't think you have experienced the quality of music reproduction from a system like that. I think your combination of the Gryphon amp and a GATS2 will be one hec of SOTA at its best!
I can only think of how wonderful a nice Pass Labs XA30.8 partnered with a GATS2 and ML CLX's would sound like... let alone your Wilsons!
Now that would be very very special indeed!
Cheers mate and go for it, as I have said many times over and over again- you folks in the US of A are dam lucky, your pricing is right, nearly all of the best top notch gear is actually still made there of some sorts... and all of the great music is from there in any case. So, what's the big delay? I would have done the S2 switch long time ago... and been in audio heaven a long time ago, and in fact a long time ago I actually lived in the US! Should have stayed back in IL, great place indeed.
Now my life and home is here in Koala/Kangaroo/Redback country- no! it's not that bad at all, just majorly different! All in all, Aus is a great place mate! and the high-end does cost a fortune! Affordable though if you work really hard, no need to deal in drugs or anything that grows green but does require an awful lot of "hard yakka" to afford such luxuries.
Cheers Lloyd, you won't be disappointed! I know that for a fact.
