Has anyone checked these new tubes out from Shuguang? They are a new addition to their Treasure line of tubes.

They have 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, EL84's and others, I am not familiar with.

Grant Fidelity sells them in the US.

I know of some folks who just picked up some of those new GL 12ax7's and I am waiting to hear from them regarding how they sound.
I use the Tungsol's and the Tele's in my preamp at the moment.

Myles,

I wonder why your post is in my original post?

Weird.

Hmmmm.....I might have screwed up using my moderators option. Perhaps I used the edit post option. Will try to remove. :(

The Pavanes caught my eye too. Two other tubes that I'd like to investigate down the road for my phono stage are the reissued GL 12ax7s and a new Sophia mesh plate 12ax7. The latter isn't available as of yet.

IMHO, there is a crying need for a decent 12ax7. When cj ran out of their old Ruskies, they switched over to the new Tungsols that I really don't like. Problem is that they're the best sounding of the lot and cj can get quiet tubes, something that's far from a given with either NOS or new tubes, esp. in the phono section. Currently, I'm using the Tungsols in the 'critical' position in the phono section (where noise is a major consideration) and using a Tele 12ax7 ribbed plate in the 'non-critical' position. So much better it's not funny.

One of my Shuguang Black Treasure 2A3's finally bit the dust after 2 years. The other one is still going. I got them from Grant Fidelity. They replaced the KR 2A3's that were original equipment in my amps - and which I had gone through a couple of replacement sets. I really liked the sound of the Shuguangs, and at about $400 were just over half the cost of the KR's. After reading about the new Pavane (aka Psvane) T series tubes that Grant has just started carrying and the issues with the Shuguangs, I have ordered a set of the T series 2A3'a, at slightly less than the Shuguangs. Should be getting them next week. Right now I have my remaining black Shuguang on the left amp and my remaining good KR on the right. Will post how the new tubes sound - Grant says to burn them in for a couple hundred hours to reach their best sound.
