Thank you, then is something for me, in my system the sound with RK 5u4g has sometimes too much of attack , depending on the recording and my mood;)
I already ordered Acme 274 B, the regular price is 295 usd plus shipment but there is also the possibility to buy best of 10 % selection for 345 usd which I finally choose.
Thanks for explanation! Had no idea about those 10% selected ones as i actually picked them up in Changsha delivered to my hotel so mine is just regular one.
You’ll be happy I’m sure.

PX25 I get. 242 I don't. One day I will hear it sound great. Maybe:);)
EML 45 GM is just brilliant with Luxman solid state amps. But also with other solid state and passive gear.

The funny thing is, I don't get the EML 45 GM and MUCH prefer the PX25 and the 242.
Did you try "only" the regular 242 or also the RK 242 Version?

Nooo buddy it’s just great!!
I hope to try it some time, then ;)
Glad you like it that much.
How would you compare the ACNE 274b to the FF 596?

Ked's regular 242 and his PX25.

Have you tried 45 GM with solid state pre and power amps?

I still need to compare those, but currently level of willingness is close to zero for this sort of playing...

242 didn't work with his previous pre. And the 45 didn't work at yours it was very weak..

That was with the Silvaweld preamp.
The EML 45 mesh AG works very good with the Aries Cerat Incito, just not as good as the 242 and the PX25 ;)

My Acme 274B showed up yesterday, and I got to do some quick listening this morning. Very smooth, and definitely will be a best friend to a 242, which I will try later. This morning's listen was with the PX25s RK. My 242s are KR only. Also, my Acme isn't part of the 10% elite, I don't trust that stuff. I'll keep you posted after things run in. This is probably the most beautiful looking tube ever.

Glad you like it and my impression about tube was not off..
Visually perfect match with “globe” tubes and in general a looker....

Hi @Golum . I haven't given enough of a listen to come to a consensus on it's sound. Smooth was my first impression. I think it does need some break-in. If it's anything like the Acme 805, then it'll need significant amounts. Nothing offensive this far and I suspect it'll complement the 242s more than the PX25s.

No such devils work in my house :p:D

Now it's funny you should say that because I plugged the 211s back last night after a long time no listen and got a reminder of what they can do.

Now a lot of people think top end Luxman solid state sounds like valve gear but it really doesn't. It is something different. Something that doesn't suffer common solid state ailments would be closer to the truth.

Anyway I really should own PX25. Anyone who has a pair and wants to sell PM me?

My Acme 274 B just arrived, no duty and tax whatsoever;). Fast delivery- in 9 days with standard airmail.
Already after first notes of Haydn performed by Carmignola it’s very promissing.
Tomorrow leave to Warsaw to Audio and Video Show organized by our dear friend Elberoth , the 15th edition:)
Will report after first 50 h.

I will:)
In Sobieski Hotel there will be a presentation of my Duo Mezzo XD in Wilanow II room whilst in Wilanow I Acapella Apollon will be presented just behind the wall, first time at AVS.
No better opportunity to compare two of them.

Greetings

Sorry if it’s already been dissected and discussed. I’ve decided upgrade to the Pacific and was wondering what the consensus is on using Ethernet. I’m getting great results with USB using the sonic transport/Sonore signature and looking forward to upgrading to their optical solution. I inquired about Ethernet and this is the response: please see attached. What to do.

These are all separate power supplies in the Lampi PAC. Just compare the size to most other Dacs and you see the kind of space to separate things that normal form factor Dacs don't have. What I would advise is to keep modems and such to the RIGHT of the Dac, or if on the left, very far away.

Ethernet sounds great on the Pac for PCM. Ethernet DSD cant touch DSD by USB though. Just try for yourself. The PAC is a no-brainer for me...
