It really is an amazing computer and even made in the USA. I hope KeithW isn't going to tell us that it us a rehash or remake stolen from some other company.
Agreed but what is there about it that concerns you?
I've never seen such a powerful home computer wrapped in such a small box. It seems well designed and well thought out. The question is whether the new OS Mavericks will run without bugs on it
Mavericks will probably run on the new MacPro just fine. My concern is with machines of earlier vintages.
So where is Keith_W when you need him to tell us this is just another version of something that the Android can probably already do and has no real innovation as part of this announcement.
Apple released some new pictures of Mac Pro, showcasing additional functionality.
What you may need when you run into an app that only runs on Windows:

Yum! First Mac that is good enough to eat from!

Or you could put it on your front door and get every heard to turn as folks drive by:

And the dark side:

So no, there is nothing like it on the Windows side. They all just do what a computer does. The above "apps" are exclusive to Apple.
[Brother Keith, I have your back!]

In the words of Jessica Rabbit: I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.Have his back!! Man you're going to take the bullet for him
I know all of that Tim. The main automation system we install for our higher end customers is Savant which actually uses a Mac Mini internally and can only be programmed on a Mac. Our programmers which includes my son have to use the dual environment because with the exception of Savant, none of the other systems we program is supported in Mac OS. Parallels works for the most parts but there are quirks at times with the way the hardware is virtualized.Jessica, when you want to run a Windows-only app on a Mac, you run Windows. In a window (smal w, stands for "where Microsoft got this idea). On a Mac. With OSX and its app running in another widow. Simultaneously. Of course you probably woudln't want to. As I like to say, you can run Windows on a Mac, but it's sort of like running International Harvester on a Jaguar.
