New Gryphon Amp coming!

It's strange that there aren't any reviews of this amplifier yet.
If nothing comes up, I'll be in Madrid on Saturday for a conference organized by Ultimate Audio. They'll be presenting three systems, one of them a Gryphon Commander + Antileaon Revelation Mono, although with a different speaker, server, and DAC than mine.
Well I don’t think any American reviewers have their hands on them yet. Same for dealers. I’m getting one of the very first in the U.S.

Gryphon gear doesn't really need reviewing. I had a Gryphon Pandora and Antileon Evo. When the Commander and Apex were announced I ordered one of each. I ordered a week after the announcement. It was a six month wait still. No regrets. They don't make mediocre gear. If you can afford it, order it.

Has any one hear the new gryphon Phono stage yet
Ive been offered one at a decent price possibly going to go
Onto my soon to arrive AMG record player
Not getting the gryphon record player though
The rest is Apex stereo and commander arriving soon

Rarified Air here on What's Best! I have a Gryphon Essence and am thinking about the new Antileon, but for me there is significant opportunity cost, and I really need to consider whether the upgrade is worth it before ordering. Not to say though that a "review" is going to help that much with a decision. I've looked around the country to see where an Antileon Revelation is coming in to hear. There is one dealer that carries Rockport that is getting one soon...
On the other hand, the money might be best spent moving up from Atrias to Lynx. But in my rather nearfield situation, the speakers share the same tweeter and midrange units....handwringing problems that keep the mind busy! In a good way!

You have an interesting decision to make. Either option will be a significant upgrade. Sharing the same tweeter/midrange is not the way to think about the Lynx. The cabinets internal volume coupled with the 10 inch woofer make it play MUCH bigger. The cabinets construction being much quieter allows you to hear much deeper into the recording resulting in much better resolution. On the other hand while Rockports sensitivity is 90db their impedance minimus is usually in the low 2s in the 50hz range. This means your Essence is struggling to play linearly and with low distortion when you really turn up the volume. A Revelation would really help with this. Part of your decision tree needs to be how far you typically push your amplifier. If it were me I would buy Lynx and then eventually look for a used Evo which you could pick up for under 25k. There is a gentleman Sorren Wintrup here in the US who is an expert working on Gryphons if you are worried about out of warranty repairs sometime in the future.

I have trialed the old antillion evo and essence
Hands down I think the essence has a much nicer over all sound but no where as powerful as the Antillion which I found lacking clarity in the higher frequencies but amazing controll on the lower end
But honestly the nicest sound I’ve heard till now is the 333 Diablo seems to have the best of everything and I preferred it to the sound to mephisto monos driven by a commander
I’ve order a commander +Apex as ime
Told it’s like a bigger brother to the 333

Fascinating! As a big fan of Gryphon, first of all Congratulations! That is literally enormous news!

As someone who owned Antileon, Colosseum and then Mephisto, I have not heard the latest amps...so curious really just to hear more specifically about how the 333 compares with the Mephisto Monos (I know the stereo not the monos).

I think the 333 has really amazing clarity and soundstage it’s actually very musical but powerful at the same time and seems to have a lot of reserve power on tap within reasonable limits
The commander is unbelievable as a pre amp and I though is was almost magical the way it enhanced the music but completely disappeared from the sound stage at the same time with the mephisto monos
I found the mephisto monos very revealing very fast but a bit dry at the same time lots of power but the 333 has a lusher overall better sound for me
I thought many times of if I should just go for the 333 vs 6 times more for the apex commander but could we resist the urge and that way ime not gonna wanna. Upgrade in 12 months

Thank you! Very helpful. I think in many respects your description of the Mephisto might be why I paired it with the CJ GAT 2 preamp while we owned it. CJ/Gryphon was always a combination I enjoyed. Perhaps most so with the Mephisto.

I think you have made the right move with the Apex. There is no regret, and you surely own the true reference class of the magnificent Gryphon line. Enjoy and please post when they have arrived and are playing in your system!

Fantastic! That sounds exciting and no doubt will be awesome when you're done to have truly a fully customized system (incl room). What speakers are you driving/going to be driving with the Gryphon duo?

That is a serious pairing there...nice. I can only imagine what will happen when you combine Blades with Apex.

Hang O-N! You have a new Halcro? How is it? I was literally just reading about it. Certainly a legendary amp and have heard great things about the new version.

Well...that says it all. You've gone for the Apex. Thanks for that.

Also the mephisto monos were making the room soo hot in full bias so the halcro was a welcome change

That I could totally believe. We have Robert Koda K160 Monos now (235 Watts Pure Class into 4ohms). 1100 watts constant draw from the wall. Beautiful and in the UK manageable given the temperatures.
