We missed you here too, Mike. I have been waiting for a good news to happen to the Clippers... and he has been elusive, mysterious and it's actually exciting.

I suddenly remembered the words of Pop when asked about the situation re Kawhi and the Spurs. "You gotta ask Kawhi and his GROUP". And it just occurred to me, since that time till he was traded and played for the Raptors, this group included his medical team. Who foot the bill? I doubt it's the Raptors as teams have their own. If that were so, Kawhi is spending a lot of his own money on his group, and now flying on chartered planes and SUVs and into nowhere. And all that after turning down a max contract to stay with the Spurs. I don't think he loves money. His decision will show us if he loves playing in his hometown, or loves another ring. And if he signs a 2 year deal with Toronto and not the max (the most money among the 3 teams), it still means he doesn't love money that much.

So the Lakers DO have a deadline - July 6, to make the trade of AD happen with the Pels and ATL. If Kawhi holds them up past July 6, they will lose the cap space, acc to Bobby Marks of ESPN.

AT the 3.30 mark - 'what if Kawhi just wait long enough and chose the Clippers and cost the Lakers the ability to sign another max free agent' - people will be screaming conspiracy theory! LOL

I've heard analysts asking what more could Kawhi not know after the interviews that will hold up 3 teams while perhaps he's just home watching tv or reading a book until he decides which day is a good day to let 2 teams die and let one live.

Another question is if he Is looking for trust, how can he trust a team whose more scientific coach can be fired in favor of one Jason Kidd? How does the spectre of Kidd coaching Kawhi look like to Kawhi? When all along his former team has everything anyone would want in a title chase since it retained everything from last year's title run. In a few days we shall know. Or maybe a few weeks.

It may be because it was not his idea, his scheme, his grand plan. Kawhi is not owned by his buddy Rich Paul, so James might have been startled by such an 'opening'. He chooses his 'guys' - Kevin Love, JR, AD. Kevin Love was in my books a top quality power forward, a bruiser inside, but became a Kyle Korver in Cleveland.

Kawhi is the NEW king, not that I consider James the old king, but yes he is old. Kawhi in this few days has shown his clout, his power and the demand for him in this free agency infancy. If ever Kawhi leaves the Raptors, he would be leaving them fresh from a title, as in weeks of it. LeBron left Cleveland after losing as their leader for 8 years or so, then left Miami after losing to the Spurs and left Cleveland again after losing to the Warriors. Funny how my memory is clear on his losing days. Also, it has been Kawhi's wish to play for and in his hometown, not to play with LeBron who well, just happened to be there already since last year. That is why the Clippers is in the mix. Hometown. James might actually be too stunned to see how the world is treating the REAL King with such excitement.

Steve, you mean Kawhi and his uncle are now doing a LeBron and Rich Paul.

One analyst was saying Lakers land would be screaming Conspiracy Theory.

The Lakers have put off filling out the rest of their roster while they wait for the Kawhi Leonard to make his free agency decision, and it probably won’t matter, as long as Leonard ultimately chooses the Lakers.

#KawhiUpdate: After looking like we would find out today, we will not. Kawhi is still undecided & is not going to finalize his decision today. Also, contrary to other reports, Kawhi is NOT interested in signing a 1 or 2 year deal. When he signs, it will be a long term contract.

I think the bottom line is LA but Lakers, where almost certainly they will win a championship but be subservient to the King.? or to the Clippers where it will be his team BUT not the championship that I would predict as I would with the Lakers

The Lakers have put off filling out the rest of their roster while they wait for the Kawhi Leonard to make his free agency decision, and it probably won’t matter, as long as Leonard ultimately chooses the Lakers.

That was a good read . Certain things stood out

Positionally, the three could all play next to one another, and James has assured Leonard that there will be no overlap in terms of style of play as he will willingly take a backseat to the 2019 NBA champion. James and Leonard have dazzled in the postseason as well, combining for five titles and five NBA Finals MVPs.

Said another scout: “Let’s be honest, everyone knows that if the Warriors were healthy, they would have won. So is he sure if he comes back that he would have a chance to win it with [Toronto]?

”If I’m him, I’m going to the Lakers.”

It’s hard to say they would be overwhelming favorites to repeat in the East even with Leonard around, while the potential dynamism of that Lakers big three is hard to ignore.
