Pretty hard to fathom the main man of a team walk away from defending their title to play the next few years in his hometown. That would make playing for your hometown the main goal instead of winning titles.

Good points. Or Kyrie coming to Boston and supposedly thrilled at the Celtics tradition then telling the Garden crowd that he will be staying on if the fans want to only to end up not liking Boston or be with the team. Ilogical to me.

From Chris Carter, who says he has known Kawhi since his college days and is a trusted friend of KL, says, ALL teams are still in the mix as of the last interview with the Raptors. KL does not know YET where he wants to go.

IMO Jalen Rose is one of the worst basketball commentators. He's full of stories all of which are full of hot air...


Jabari Young of The Athletic has a solid connection with Leonard and covered him when he played for the San Antonio Spurs. Young tweeted last night that Leonard would not make a decision anytime soon, it seems.

Via Twitter, Young wrote: "On the Kawhi front, told he’s not making a decision tonight and it may not be until the next few days. He and his reps are going through the process and taking their time before deciding the next move. No 2-year deals have been discussed."

as an aside, the fact that Kawhi has nothing to say and that he has a very good friend who says no 2 year deal was ever discussed, my feeling is he is either truly conflicted about going elsewhere OR he wants to go to the Raptors but only on a 2 year deal which they aren't offering--YET

I always enjoy an espresso every morning but I might gag if I read anymore news about the King and his court

It could very well be that Kawhi also feels the first 2 yers of his contract he will be taking a knee to the King BUT in 2 years the Lakers could clearly be his team.

May be wants a 2 year deal from the Lakers which would give him the chance to bail if the ass kissing were to continue beyond 2 years

I'll throw up if the Lakers retire LeBron's jersey and hang it from the rafters as IMO he isn't and will never in my mind be a Laker

Thanks Steve. I just love the game and with net sources more info can be had unlike in the 80s I had to rely on the newspapers of the following day for a playoff result.

Christoph, I believe trades can go on till the start of the season and deadline will be next February. July 6 is the date when contracts can begin to be signed. Free agents who are not yet signed will be eligible for any signings if there is a team wanting to take them even into the season. Problem is, by that time, rosters are mostly filled up and cap space Is very narrow.
