New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Thanks Steve. Surely that is some good news after the imminent departure of Kyrie and Horford.

Surely, KD and Kawhi's joined forces will rock the league, whichever lucky team they choose. But my guts tell me Jerry West will have an advantage over the Knicks and Nets combined, and the Clippers have an equally rich billionaire to shell out some doughs if need be. :)

Gone are the days of great players being 'extended' by their home teams. The CBA has 'helped' in the disintegration of the GM/team concept into the James/Rich Paul model. It sucks that way, really.

Agreed too, I don't think Kawhi will be a Lakers. Being barked upon by James for a bad play or bad shot? Only Pop can do that to Kawhi. :D
I couldn't agree more :(
Only big Money seems to matter.
The NBA is on the way to repeat the mistakes of the FIFA/UEFA in Soccer :rolleyes::mad:

Well Steve, I am really hearing a few analysts saying KL to LAL is going to happen, as much I don't want to see you happen, that is why I'm hoping to see the news tomorrow he goes to the Clippers or Raptors.

Christoph

inasmuch as you and I are strong LBJ fans  what are your thoughts with the Lakers to date and the fact that they might sign Kawhi and Iggy swell as getting D'Angelo Russell back. Iggy, as good as he is needs limited minutes to survive the whole season but he can shoot and play Dee in clutch times for limited minutes.I would think it would be a one year contract as he likely will retire

I think there are more LeBum fans than just the two of us ;):D
My fear is that LA with Kawhi will be too strong to be beaten (provided there will be no injuries like this year :()
Especially when other Teams are weakened by injuries and/or not having AD and Kawhi

Injuries are always the big unknown. Groin injuries can become chronic and recur

I remember after winning a title, the next season KG had a knee strain on a regular alley-oop, he missed lots of games, came back, and was never the same again. I think Doc, in one interview, mentioned that too. KG was afraid to jump and fly for fear of recurring that injury.

A lengthy read but worth the time...

Why the collapse of the Warriors feels so abrupt

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27100698/why-collapse-warriors-feels-abrupt

Last season when it was announced that Cousins should join the Warriors, it was like another ring was handed that same time as that news. Imagine a first 5 of Steph, Klay, KD, Green and Cousins. It reminded me of Karl Malone and Gary Payton joining Shaq and Kobe, championship and nothing else. Chemistry and injuries determine a big part of success, and actually it was the Raptors who had chemistry and were free from from injuries. In that regard, I can't understand why Kawhi would leave Toronto, if basketball was his main purpose, not some sentimental feeling of playing at home.

And all told, I am still very happy and thankful that the Warriors were able to take 3 titles away from LeBron, or else he would have 6 rings, 2 with asterisks. :D

He's a southern California home grown kid and wants to return home to his roots

Anxiety is reaching its peak in Toronto. Where I read that the chartered plane of Kawhi and his group had touched down, with a news chopper eyeing the supposed limo where he is in. And fans had swarmed outside the hotel where Ujiri is allegedly waiting for Kawhi. This is a mystery. There are now odds as to WHO will be the first to break the news, Woj is tops. :D

It's going to be pretty devastating for the fans to hear that Kawhi is leaving them, in such a scenario.

Jalen Rose just said 99% certain he is re-signing with the Raptors for a 2 year deal which then puts him in a spot for the largest contract ever in the NBA...which is what everyone said at the beginning. Only Stephen A said Lkers

For once, I would like to agree with Jalen Rose. It will be pretty devastating too for the fans of Toronto to hear right there that Kawhi is leaving them.

truly the guy who started the Lakers buzz was Stephen A who is 99% certain he is bound for the Lakers and Jalen Rose who is 99% he is going to the Raptors for 2 years and then sign the largest NBA contract

ESPN The Jump has this 'coverage' of the plane and suv route in a segment called The Kawhi Light Zone. :D

Perkins agrees with Jalen, because he thinks Kawhi didn't have to fly all the way from LA to Toronto to break the bad news, as a simple phone call will suffice. Makes sense.

Maybe he’s there to say he’s Lakers bound and wants Uriji to come with and get rid of Jeannie’s man
