New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Detroit impressed me in the playoffs. I think Houston will be much better

Ever since he had a brief stint with the Lakers I am not a Mike Brown fan. I loved the Knicks this year and to me Mike Brown is a journeyman coach who cant hold down a regular coaching job in the NBA

I thought. the Knicks were a true contender last year and I guess time will tell what Brown can bring to the table. He is IMO a lackluster coach

KD is gone to the Rockets and Bradley Beal gets a buyout and signs with the Clippers and Corey Booker remains the last Star standing as he signs a $145M extension that keeps him in Phoenix through 2029-2030 season

There was a time that the Suns seemed to be the next NBA champ but several coaching changes later as well as the coming and going of several super stars the Suns seem to have blown their chance

And another sad story. One of the best players in the league. Lillard. Traded by Portland to the Bucks to bring home the trophy but a heart breaking injury puts a damper on that. Bucks who imo are classless and waive Lillard because of the injury. Every grey cloud has a silver lining as Damian rejoins the Trailblazers who have gone nowhere under coach Chauncey Billups. I hope Lillard heals fast and becomes a force in the west. IMO he’s a class act who never complains and gives his all whenever he’s on the court

I like this one for the Lakers. as Wizards buy out contract of Marcus Smart who signs with the Lakers . I always liked Smart when he was a Celtic and was surprised when Boston moved him

The down side of this story makes Gabe Vincent likely the odd man out . I always liked him as well especially in the golden years when he played for the Heat but he's vulnerable because of all of his injuries. However when he's on the floor his shots from outside the arc are always dead on.

Journeyman but once great has Chris Paul who almost completed the circuit by playing for almost every NBA team returns to the Clippers where he played from 2011-2017. I remember vividly es he was going to the Lakers when New Orleans was having financial issues and the commish David Stern who had control of the team vetoed the deal as the Lakers would have been too powerful of a team and CP# ended up in LA but as a Clipper

Sad to see the sun set on this greta career............North Carolina-born point guard Chris Paul might end up as one of the greatest players never to win an NBA Championship ring. The closest he has come so far was in 2021 when the Phoenix Suns went 2-0 up in the NBA Finals, but Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks won four games straight to take the title.

I feel for CP3 as well as Harden as I doubt either will ever get that ring

so also was the fate of Sir Charles...... Charles Barkley does not have an NBA championship ring. Despite a successful career that included an MVP award and numerous All-Star appearances, he never won an NBA title. He reached the NBA Finals once with the Phoenix Suns in 1993, but they were defeated by the Chicago Bulls

You have to love Jokic off the court as well He's a real guy, with real emotion and tears of joy

In the video he dwarfs the size of this little horse . Nice to see him enjoying the off season home in Serbia

I'm making my finals prediction for 2026 Hahahahahahaha! Here it goes!

Spurs vs Cavs!

Great to see this thread resurrected. Nice to see Jack here.

Cavs maybe Spurs is a long shot Jack

As forLakers there preseason has been dismal but they did make some good signs in the off season

Knicks need to be happy and Brunson cannot do it in his own even though he had the heart and skill

The West is so tight! I just love the Spurs' rookie PG so I figured I'd ride with them :D

Check out Jr D, Derrick Harper's 6'6" son who will be with fellow big speedster D'Aaron Fox this year.

Win number one for the Spurs opening with total domination of the depleted Mavs. I'm telling you guys this team is fast, smart and deep. Sophomore Castle has just broken out and young Harper showed that he is ready right now. We haven't even seen Carter much yet. I'm excited! Oh and Wemby? This is not the Wemby we saw at the Olympics. THIS right now is the real Unicorn. He makes Krystaps look more like an Ibex or something. Oh this is Carter, Carter Bryant their other rookie in his regular season debut.

At least I have a team to cheer for while Halli recovers and hopefully can come back without too much permanent damage.

The Cavs I picked mainly because I thought they were undermanned and showed their lack of experience. Roster wise I think Ball, crazy Dad and ball hog brother aside, will really help exploit open paths for Mitchell to dice through. I also think that Mobley might be one of the most underappreciated bigs by the casual fan. We all know which teams are hobbled. I still don't see how getting Turner helps the Bucks. The Knicks?

On coaching, I think the Knicks are the most interesting story this year. They probably will have the most different offensive style compared to the year prior. There are 82 games for them to get it to click so it is totally within the range of possibility that this team will turn into a multiheaded monster of a problem or Brown's new system could end up making the Knicks play softer than we've all become accustomed. Personally, I like the hard nosed D and don't want to see that diminished.

I'm an unabashed Pacers fan and I'll be sitting behind their bench at today's home opener against the Thunder.
The Pacers have made it clear that they're not taking this as a "gap year." Yes, they won't be as effective without Haliburton, but their message is that the team still has the same personality, will still strive to be the fastest, most chaos-causing team in the league, and absolutely intends to contend.
I think it will be far into the season before there's any thought of tanking for the draft.
I expect Benn Mathurin to mix his otherworldly talent with greater maturity, team-think, and strategy this year, and it'll be interesting to see if Johnny Furphy breaks out. Of course, no one really has any idea how the loss of Myles Turner will impact the floor (although I regarded him as one of the laziest players in basketball until last season, and he won only 34% of his tip-offs).
One interesting point I'm hoping was an aberration: of the seven players in the entire league who tore their Achilles tendon last season, three were Pacers: Haliburton, of course, but also James Wiseman (first game) and Isaiah Jackson (sixth game). Both Wiseman and Jackson are still on this season's roster.

I feel bad about Haliburton. What a crippling way to end last season
