As some of you may have already heard me say, Netflix - either streaming or discs - is the only way I watch TV these days. I had a lot of time on my hands this last week as I was sick enough to be home much of it, but unable to sleep. So I browsed around and tried out some Sci Fi. Here's what I sampled:

Lost Girl - Reminds me of the women I was attracted to in my 20s; sexy but way too obvious.

Dr. Who (the 2000 version) -- I didn't even make it through and episode. I found myself watching what was supposed to be a tense dramatic scene, in which is was incredibly obvious what was going to happen but it just kept hanging and hanging and not happening until...well, there it is. Glad I didn't wait through a commercial for that. Bad writing. Worse directing. And the acting is nothing to write home about.

Fringe - I just saw the Pilot, but I'll watch more. Looks interesting in an X-Files sort of way.

Off of the Sci Fi track I watched a few episodes of New Girl because I've been told it's good. It is. Funny. Not just for young women. I'm way past the demographic but it was still fun. And I watched the first two episodes of the first season of Newsroom. I'm anxious for the next disc to arrive. This was very good TV.

I don't know your tastes, but I and many others have found Eureka to be an amusing and mostly unpretentious SciFi show.

Careful Tim. Fringe can be addicting. I watched all 5 seasons in 2 months.
