Ha ha. Well I hate not finding solutions to problems. Not being able to use the mobile app with optical isolation, and dual LAN bandwidth, with the NADAC would drive me crazy.
I've actually thought of a cheaper solution that would work as well. Simply use a regular router connected to Ethernet port #2 on the motherboard, and use dual TP-Link MC220L's. One connected to the router, and one to the NADAC. That should work as well. It would be exactly like their example picture, only with optical isolation. Easier to find the parts than the other way too. You wouldn't have internet on the iPad while using it though. But will still be able to control Roon and the NADAC app.
Ethernet port # 1 will also be connected to a router, but it will just be to pipe the Internet into the server. That router will also provide an Internet Wifi connection to the house.
There may even be a way to share that Internet with Ethernet #2. But I don't know how to set that up off the top of my head. It would be nice to have Internet on the iPad at the same time.
Connecting one of the outputs on router 1 to one of the outputs on router 2, might even work to bring Internet connectivity onto that LAN.
Interesting, thank you Blizz. I shall try after the festivities.
And a merry Christmas to you all. It is Christmas Day in Sydney. Santa brought me some wonderful gifts this year - a book entitled "Memoirs of a Sea faring Life - The Narrative of William Spavens", a lovely tea towel with every major species of dog on it (seeing as I cannot have a dog where we live, this is the next best thing - while also acting perhaps as a hint), some tea, and a soap on a rope (for those of us that grew up in the 70's, you will remember the Old Spice & Brut 33 Soap on a Ropes). Bridget, my wife got a (we think) beautiful blue & green vase/candle holder and a gorgeous bed sheet set she has been after. Our wonderful domestic helper (she cleans our place once a week and is God sent), is a young woman from Italy, very kindly gave us a Pandoro, which we have never sampled before. It is delicious, much like Madeira cake. We saved half to enjoy with coffee, and the other half I think we will make into a trifle, which is a staple in NZ & Australia, at Christmas.
In the meantime one of our delightfully unique animals:
