MUNCHEN 2025 MOC / MARRIOTT The final Chapter !

The biggest drawback I see with this company is that they will have most probably next year in Vienna a complete new system which is maybe less expensive and so on the following years. So quite a bad investment. I have no trust in this company. And I dislike these battery of active amps. Compare this to the simplicity of the Silbatone approach, no contest.
The visual aesthetic of the system, imho, is pretty cheesy— a shortcoming of quite a few audio designers as evidenced by the pictures from Munich. I would have to listen to these in complete darkness.

Agree,
it is completely ridiculous for the price of one million. Further the subwoofer, tweeter and super tweeter seem not be horn based at all. Compare this to a Martion Aeonor system for less than 100k:

The video seems to have been removed. I hope they will upload another version without copyright issues. I did not go through it all, but it was interesting to watch.
I modified the video to remove the copyright conflicts and I improved the chapters and the presentation picture:

Roy Gregory about Vienna:

"Finally, despite the organiser’s assurances to the contrary, there are significant question marks regarding the ‘rooms’ at the Austria Center in Vienna, many of which are partitioned out of larger/longer spaces and have windows down one side only, creating a significant acoustic imbalance. I deliberately sought out reports from those who exhibited or attended the Vienna Show last year and they were extremely mixed and far from up-beat."

Maybe Munich was the sweet spot for Audio shows?

HIFI DELUXE has some excellent rooms.

Yes, also FAS Zurich...which I will visit in autumn.
BTW, I found the Clarisys Atrium better sounding in Zurich than Munich.

Its possible i might be at the Courtyard by Marriot hotel in Brussels/ New music show.
They have some of the best rooms for a show
It has a lot to do with the curved / vaulted ceiling construction imo.
A Marriot hotel group design thing ?

If you can listen to Gobel noblesse/Riviera in gobel factory showroom.

It seems Riviera will be in tokyo show 2025 .

Hong kong and Tokyo are next audio shows.

The sound secrets of 10 high-end systems explained by their creators

Thanks for sharing.

Aries Cerat - even through headphones (!) that system impresses me a lot. My impression is that one can instantly hear on the first notes of Ravel's String Quartet (at 10'') how phenomenal that system sounded (even if a maybe less sophisticated microphone than the Schoeps of Totaldac was used). Not a 25th row sound, it seems. Unfortunately, we can enjoy only just the first seconds of that wonderful piece of music.

AvantGarde - offers two versions of the Trio, passive and active. A specific version dedicated to dealers embeds both passive and active filter, so the dealer can easily switch between passive or active configuration, and the listener in the shop car more easily make a choice. Smart.

Cessaro - definitely impressive speakers. They demo'ed a 5 ways, with active subwoofer for compactness.
how was the sound?

Genelec - 5-ways. Concentric tweeter (compression) and midrange, surrounded by four mid-bass cones. "Point source". DSP with room-EQ. Approx €60K.
Did someone listen to those? How did it sound? (roughly, compared to other passive high-end systems, especially horns).

Interesting compare here of the same track on the Western electric vs the Acapella

WAMM added to this compare with Acapella and WE, same track

To me, not good. I had been looking forward to comparing some different horn systems, with Cessaro one of the renowned brands. Some horns really sounded very good such as Acapella, hORNS Uniwersum Ref, Aries Cerat, the Silbatone old WE horns. Cessaro just (too) loud to me in that room, not a balanced sound. It was such that I wanted to leave, but still I stayed for another song to see whether it was the music or not. It wasn't.

Agreed...not sure why they can't get it right for the show...god knows they have had enough years. Even the small speaker, which normally sounds great, sounded bright and shouty (I don't think they had the subs with them this year).
