I guess it's all pretty much unprovable. Just found the whole thing kinda odd. As to the Pioneer itself and it's built-in phonostage, I'd definitely say it has been a significant improvement. I'm very pleased that I bought it when the opportunity arose.

Dehorning isn't provable?

Scroll down to lacquer preparation. Pretty much all top remastering labels today eg. AP, MM, ORG don't dehorn. That's why sometimes also the record seems noisier until it's played a few times.

OK, you need to keep a couple of Pampers handy. It's a mind blowing recording on a great system! Sxxt's going on all over the place (another similar type recording is Alan Parson's I Robot!).

BTW, I could never find a "good" copy without some pressing defect of the original LP.

I'm still in the hunt for an original Virgin UK vinyl pressing of this album, BUT.................I just listened to an SHM-SACD file on FLAC of this and damn.....it's good, really good! No comparison to the standard Hybrid SACD. The details this disc brings forth is ear-opening and there is not a trace of harshness to be heard.

Very enjoyable.

Which version is this? I didn't see any of your other posts about Tubular Bells in this thread. I am going to hazard a guess that a Mr Piros is involved?

I use the Classic Records reissue that's still available last I saw on themusic.com (just follow the link to the new site). Wasn't able to get the 45 rpm unreleased version though recently on ePay
