Making it street able is the only reason the price tag gets so high. There's plenty of custom/home builds that have the power to weight ratio and didn't cost much. Handling can go either way, and looks is certainly dominated by the commercial manufacturers.
I've seen a street able 2khp car, it used pump gas but had a special octane booster tank of something else that would activate when the boost climbed high enough. That seems like the theme, these cars are more limited by available street gas than engineering for sheer hp.
Isn't Aston Martin going to be using AMG engines from now on?
I believe the issue with F1s engines is that the power comes in very high in the rev range, 8000rpm on up to 11,000rpm.

I've always owned black Alan. If I were to buy the C it would be the lime green
