Mars in HD

Amazing photo.

Breathtaking!

Unreal. This was much more complicated than the other landings because of the weight of the rover, it's really one of NASAs -- and mankind's perhaps -- great achievements.

I'm hoping they find some organism of some sort out there. :D It would be really fascinating!

Yeah, me too. I've been fascinated by the space program and the idea of life elsewhere since childhood.

Didn't we have a member who was abducted once upon a time? :D

Very well done. Thanks for positing. I wonder if the track circle is a calibration process like it is done for compass.

The zoom in and out feature is fantastic. Wonder how they flew in all those hardware up there and those steel plates just laid in on the ground. Amazing.

Can some one explain to me why this Mars lander is a much greater feat than all prior Mars landers dating back at least 15 years

Is it a larger lander than prior ones

WOW!
Thanks Chuck!!

I can see it now: Cryogenic freezing a component in now for wimps. You want high-end? Sprinkle Mars dust on your amplifier and your sound will be "out of this world". (I apologize -- it must be late !!)

Steve, I'm not so sure that this lander is a greater feat than all prior Mars landers. However, this one is appx. the size of a large car or midsize truck and from what I understand, the others are appx the size of a lawnmower.

Thanks

That's what I surmised as well
