They've been discussing this at SH Forums for awhile, it seem some will be included in the new "Deluxe Editions" next year. No word yet on hires digital or LP.

I have a CD copy of that I used to play in the car, I didn't really focus on the sonics, what tracks do you like from the set, Hvbias? One of the posts on SH said that there is a tape of them doing that old Garnet Mimms soul song for the first album, but obviously that didn't make it on the record. (I don't remember it from the BBC stuff either- is it on there? If so I'll head up to the garage)
I can't even remember how I first heard Garnet Mimms- he was part of the early UK blue-eyed soul thing but in actuality, was a black gospel singer from the US that achieved popular success in the UK.

The vinyl box was already out of print by the time I had a chance to pick it up. I did buy (I believe) LP1 from the box set from themusic.com to see if I should splurge for the box. It has been a long time since I played it but I recall the performances being very good, I want to say there was a great high energy version of Communication Breakdown that really rocked. The Classic box set didn't contain all the songs from the BBC Sessions. There is a 4 CD bootleg that has all of them and sounds ok for the type of recording it is, I'm not sure what their source was. It doesn't look like that Mimms cover was on the official CD release.

I am definitely looking forward to hearing the stuff that didn't make the cut on their studio albums. Zep take a lot of **** for "ripping off old blues songs", but they made them their own.

Postscript- there are a couple of legitimate releases, not bootlegs or pirated streams, of various compilations under the title "The Roots of Led Zeppelin." I was given one some time ago, I think it came as a give a way with Mojo magazine. It simply compiles the original tracks that 'inspired' Zep- some of it is pretty brazen, much as I love Page. That may be where I got onto the Garnet Mimms thing. The original mono album of 'As Long as I have You' is a collector's item- I found a greatest hits of Mimms on vinyl a while ago , it may be a UK record; I'll try to look when I am in Austin next week where that record is likely stashed.
