Hi has anyone compared Paul Hynes, Uptone JS-2,Core Kaia, or RWBL LPSUs? How do they compare to the cheaper Teradak, Teddy Pardo

Also, I assume the MoBo LPSU is the most important followed by the USB and then the HD?

Where do you hit diminishing returns?

Thanks

Teddy Pardo is hardly cheaper compared to the PSUs you mentioned. And performance wise, it is up with the very best.

I would certinly not put in the same sentence Teddy PSU and Teradak. Teradak (which I also have) is a reasonable quality, fairly cheap chineese PSU.

Thanks for correcting and apologies to Teddy Pardo for my ignorance. Beg your Pardo

So, on what do you use your Teradak, and on what do you use the Pardo

I have the Teradak ATX psu for my server's MoBo, and basicly Teddy Paros PSUs for everything else (the only exception beeing SSD, which is powered by Jact battery PSU).

I would love to use Teddy's design to power my MoBo, but unfortunately Teddy Pardo does not offer ATX PSUs.

I use the Paul Hynes SR5-12 Supplies for my network setup (NAS has one, router has one) and the results are absolutely STUNNING!

What do you use on the MoBo/USB? Did you try any other PSU?

Using the Uptone Audio JS-2 LPSU for my music server resulted in excellent enhancement in SQ. It has duel rails. First rail I use to power the MOBO at 12v and the second rail I use to power the SSD at 5v.

Thanks, any comparisons? Btw I had Summits and love the Tara cobalt

No comparisons. These are my 3rd pair of Martin Logan speakers. These Summit Xs I've had since 2009 and are keepers!

I do like things reflected off the wall from the back wave, so prefer to keep it naked. Another guy in the UK has the Summit X with Bel Canto, but MSB 200 amp. Adding the Lampi to a Logan makes a big diff. Also putting Shun Mooks under components will make the sound come top to down from the panel, and will give it more height, and even more stage. In comparison not having Shun Mooks makes it sound almost as if the sound is coming in a linear horizontal plane from the center of the panel. Try tyo audition them from the cable factory. You won't send them back. Do you use the Tara to power the speakers as well?

Yes. My soundstage goes beyond the speakers by 5+ feet and the height is 3 feet above the speakers. I would not want to change the current soundstage as it's perfect for me.

Hi Bonzo

I'm not exactly sure if we're talking about the same thing.....but I had a linear power supply built for my music server (also a custom build). MCRU/Longdog built it for me, it was quite expensive at £900 but the difference was huge compared to the old (also custom made but smaller) power supply. Smoother more analogue sound, extra detail and much more precise imaging, but the biggest difference was a BIG increase in weight, power and a much more relaxed presentation.

Hi yes, but different linear PSUs sound different. I have now bought used Hynes SR5, gives two 12v outputs, I can use one for the PC and one for NAS. Will then get an Uptone JS-2, one 5v for the USB card and one 12v for the router. That will also allow me to compare the 12v of the Hynes and the JS-2

I'm possibly in the market for twin 24V dc lpsu's for my Soundsmith Straingauge cart SG200 energizer box, and if my Red Wine Audio Black Lightning twin batt psu continues to prove unreliable, I'm going to get Kenneth Lau in HK to make up a pair for me.

bonzo75 - please stop touting the effectiveness of Shun Mook footers, as I have problems with sourcing an used pair. All supplu has dried up, LOL.
