Yup tried it, the 596 can't beat the 274b engraved

you need to try the Takatsuki 274B

It sounds very good with the other tubes but I will know for sure when I put in the Tak 274B.

Since I’ve solved double triode positions long time ago focus was shifted to pentodes and i believe NOS cream quads are collected (except GEC KT88) with current production KT170 and those will represent pillars for this position. Recties i won’t mention as i have too many anyways…
On top I got info that my unit is finally on the production floor/table…

Right now I am running SE. It isn’t clear what you can put in the other 2 sockets. Do they have to be the same tube type?

from what read no tubes is fine
