Can you describe the sonic differences between the 6f8g/VT99 and the Melz 1578?
Not "which is better" (a moot issue), but rather their differences sonically?

Almost identical to me. Perhaps Melz is 3% colder and vt99 is more tube-warm.

No. There are 6SL7 type variations under the vt99 pinout sub genre.

We are experimenting with different color schemes. This is a Mouse Pearl Grey, Ral7048 custom made for local millionaire to match his huge Wilsons.

Each double triode is one channel, two opposite phases. So you cant remove one.

Why didn't we cover the tv? Because the difference the cover made was very small for the sound and very big for the aesthetics. In fact - our message is : tv or no tv - our room is the best anyway.

The Photo taken under Tungsten room light conditions-hence the yellowish (Champagne ?) appearance.
