Will be there a black SAFIR 12?
Talked to Franc today. He only made the Black 9" Safir per a request from a customer. I saw it at show personally don't like it and Franc said the same thing. What was interesting was Franc was very excited about his new upcoming cartridge made with a one piece diamond cantilever.

Sure like my Audio Technica cartridge with the unified stylus and cantilever. Has a special purity and calmness.

I believe the Etsuro Gold has the same one piece.

I’ve owned 4 Etsuro Gold’s and never heard that. But that does not mean it doesn’t have it. Just not likely.
Not likely meaning I made it up or?

From Etsuro's site: "Etsuro Gold model features the diamond cantilever and due to the diamond’s hardness characteristics, the vibration transmittance speed can be increased to improve the sound quality. "

No, no, no.

There is a difference between having both a Diamond cantilever and a Diamond stylus and having both be one unified piece. Eliminating the glue joint.

The idea of the unified one piece is something rare I think.

And I could not be a bigger fan of the Etsuro Gold. I prefer it to the AudioTechnica overall.

Like what Mike Lavigne said, the new Kuzma CAR 70 has a unified one piece diamond cantilever and stylus, which I believe is the same one used on the DS Audio Grand Master Extreme, as well as the Audio Technica MC 2022 and only another two to three cartridges currently!

May I ask. How good is the Safir?

How does it play with Lyra cartridges. Namely the Atlas and Etna.

Does it sound great with only certain cartridges, or does it make every cart sound better?

I have used a Clearaudio Goldfinger, Allaerts F1, and Nagra Ref....all I liked better with my Safir vs 4 point.

On my Safir I've used a Kuzma CAR 50, a MSL Gold Sig, a MSL Platinum (personality liked the Gold better) thought the Platinum a bit "soft" sounding and best I've heard (and not by a small degree) is the MSL Sig Diamond. So whatever the designer of the cartridge was after the Safir will clearly have it shine through.

NO folks, the special thing about the new CAR-70 is its body, which is made of sapphire!
