I stand corrected. He said there is a 2” base upon which the speaker sits

Went back again today. Its terrific

Well, I've had bad and good experiences now w the Animas. The amps that Keith heard them with on paper look a good match.

I would have thought the Wavac 300B would be a great amp for this speaker.

and of the 8 people I was touring with yesterday afternoon at its peak (so great to see a lot of friends and family in the spirit of music), all 8 preferred the Altecs to the Tunes.

Who told you the stands have a sub? That is wrong. No subs in that room at all.
And indeed, that room sounds great we have actually upgraded it today, with a full Innuos Zenith mk3 instead of the Zen mini we had yesterday.

The Tune Tot room was by far my favorite "budget" one - I was pleasantly surprised!

This room seemed a bit dead at first, but was better on my own vinyl cut- I will return to give thoughts on more music as the CH guy wanted to talk for a half hour instead of play it. Speaking of CH, this gear is definitely not my favorite. It reminds me of warmer Soulution but is still dry to me. The Alumine 3 is quite small in person and would not be an option for me. I look forward to talking to Jean Pascal today about the 3 vs the 5.

Not much success the second time around - some old geezer was playing his 1940s and 50s mono records for an hour at like 60db levels. I mean, come on guys - do people understand this hobby has a problem with millennials?

At least Jean Pascal gave me some great answers to my questions on the brand - he's a clear asset. One of the nicest designers i've met in person. I am pretty sure I want to hear the Alumine Five at this point.

I thought the CH Precision too was totally underwhelming. The old guy spinning the music must have either had the best hearing or was stone deaf as the volume never did justice to the system

Could one of you folks who attended compare and contrast the Stenheim with YG? I can't find any information about the Stenheim drivers on the website (i.e. no mention of them being an in-house design). But the MSRP of the Alumine Five seems to be in the $85k USD ballpark. The aluminum cabinet is obviously custom-built, but does the overall design stand up to YG's?
