I felt that both played a part. The number of Suites showing was also far down in the High Performance Exhibits. I am getting very show fatigued - it is expensive and exhausting to do a good showing. Yet, for the visitor there is only so much of an impression you can get listening to a fragment of one track of music. For the exhibitor, it is even worse. If you don't even know what music the visitor knows, how can you make any impression at all??? Yet, with high-end stores closing down, what alternative do we have?
I think that the highlight of my show was after hours on the second day. I was alone and rocking the house with Yello really loud, and someone came in wanting to join in. We ended up spinning albums for nearly 2 hours. He turned out to be a dealer who was interested. So, we may end up with a new Genesis dealer in the US.
