Is slight turntable wobble normal?

Yes, I noticed the difference too. I immediately knew it was subject A that was utilizing the weight. Might be worth investing in.

Sometime a defective belt drive or suspension can induce a vertical oscillation of the platter.

not sure what you mean by vertical or horizontal wobble. I can see the tone arm slightly moving up and down during play. So I guess horizontal?

If the tone arm moves up and down, the wobble is vertical (not horizontal).

-So does the record also move up and down? (you did not indicate)

-Does the platter also move up and down? (you did not indicate)

Northstar: thanks for the link.

Tapetech: records wobble which causes the tone arm to move up and down. Can’t tell if the platter itself wobbles. It’s hard to see if the platter is wobbling without anything on it. I was thinking I might need a new belt. The belt actually fell off while playing a record a couple of months ago and I had to put it back on. It’s been ok since then but it might be time for a new belt. TT is about 5 years old and I use it a lot.
