I've been using those exact adapters out of the DAC card for months now, so I could use my existing best XLR's. Hoping for V2 with XLR option!I'm currently connecting the XDMI DAC card to my preamp using an old Cleraudio RCA cable I had lying around. It's a cheap cable, and I'm wondering how the system would sound if I could use my Göbel balanced cable. I found this Cardas converter. This converter would connect to the DAC card, and then I would connect my balanced cable to a balanced input on the preamp. Would this be possible without damaging either the DAC card or the preamp?

Indeed, these adapters will work fine. However...I've been using those exact adapters out of the DAC card for months now, so I could use my existing best XLR's. Hoping for V2 with XLR option!
If my Gryphon Essence preamp doesn't wait for the phase on pin 2 (I don't know) could this cause any damage?Indeed, these adapters will work fine. However...
Please note that the older Cardas adapters (not these) utilized pin 3 for positive phase (plus signal), whereas the newer ones, such as these, use pin 2 for positive phase. This adapter connects pin 3 to ground (pin 1). If your preamp also expects phase on pin 2, then you will be good.
Another point of attention is that these are heavy adapters, and due to the leverage principle, they will pull quite strongly on the Analog Card's RCA connectors. Since the card's RCA outputs have only modest strain relief, I recommend taking care and using an external mechanism to secure the XLR cables, thereby avoiding excessive stress on the connectors.
An XLR version of the Analog Card will be issued, but I do not yet have an estimated release date for this.
I quickly checked the manual, but it does not seem to specify the "hot" pin for XLR. But the standard is Pin 2. The only deviations are usually in Japanese equipment. Accuphase, for instance. In any case, there will be no damage. At worst, you will not hear any sound. If my Gryphon Essence preamp doesn't wait for the phase on pin 2 (I don't know) could this cause any damage?

Did Taiko reply to this ? My last email update was on 5 Aug, European vendors still on summer vacation ?Any chance to get the "biweekly" Olympus production update? Thank you

Interesting, thank you. I have the option of using the second (independent) rail on the Mojo Illuminati 3. I'll give it a try as well.I also have the NAS outside the DCD. I have it connected to a second output on my Paul Hynes. The first output goes to the DCD.
Which output are you using for your NAS?I'm also awaiting my Olympus and am interested in people's experiences, thanks for sharing - with my Extreme I currently have a JS-2 supplying the DCD powering Router, Switch, and QNAP TS-133 single drive NAS with a 4TB SSD (chose it for low power consumption, I have other Synology NASs w large capacity 3.5" drives).
I have a spare JS-2 so will experiment, for sure, I was initially thinking that as the DCD is so good, it'd be better to put everything on there if possible.
I have my switch and router powered from default. NAS is from Alt-1 for no reason other than thats what I plugged it in to. Haven't done any sq tests yet, I'm still trying to get the Extreme to see the NAS on ithe Taiko subnet. I think I need to set up the port forwarding, possibly, but been too busy with other stuff to spend any time on it.Which output are you using for your NAS?
