Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Will the upcoming Taiko lps be with battery output?

I want to change the capacitor to Duelund pure silver foil. Can you tell me the capacitor value that I circled in the picture?

Although you can safely do that (needless to say this does void warranty), they’re 100 nF, I would advise against it. In this type of filtering application, this modification adds a whitish hue to the sound, reduces contrast, and softens/weakens the bass.

It’s a different story when used as a bypass in an LPS feeding the DCD or switch, in that case, I’d actually highly recommend it, provided the main capacitance you’re bypassing is reasonably large (≈10,000 µF or higher).

I think Taiko/Emile is the only audio manufacturer who would so politely discuss this possibility with a customer, let alone have such detailed knowledge of the sonic implications of the change. It makes me even more excited about eventually enjoying the Olympus.

welcome back Emile. It's been a long time since I've awarded you The Pearl of the Day award

No, I think this makes you his Daddy.

I just wired to Taiko more than the cost of the house I grew up in. Can it be that the Olympus is near? Exciting times.
