No, but there are batteries
And I would never have guessed these could make a difference.
But I know this hobby too...

Is this a spoof thread? No disrespect guys, I've had the $hit ripped out of me when I revealed that I replaced 9 stock fuses in my preamp alone w SRs, and believe in directionality, and have installed a specialist pwr cord on my tt motor psu.

I'm just wondering about this one. Otoh, I know someone who has dozens of crystals in his system, incl on cbls, and is a firm believer in crystal directionality...and yes, battery power to some of these crystals.
As a guy who plays as much on the dark side as in the light I am more than happy to explore both the known and the unknown. I’m genuinely never going to be ripping the shot out of tweaks generically rather than just to say that small things can have an effect on the system or the room or us and that not all of these things need to be obvious to then (synergistically) also add change to the experience. To try and to reflect is good and also just cause you like it doesn’t make it objectively better but can make it subjectively preferable.

So if you see room environment as part of the system and if you then view the system and room and listener all as part of the listening experience then everything is enmeshed and everything can matter.

That is to say the facts of a thing aren’t separate to the experience of a thing and that the experience of a thing certainly isn’t limited to the facts of that thing. Are we not men? Ultimately we all create our own listening reality.

So while the standard expected thing seems to be to separate all these things out we tend to also give less value to things like expectation bias. But can’t we harness expectation to improve experience? Expectation is just as valid to experience as reality. Just sayin.

Tweakin peace out also to all in the lithium battery universe and extended sonic brotherhood.

Tao, when you meet a guy who has battery-pwrd crystals, SR room treatments OUTSIDE the listening room, and tweaks inside his FRIDGE...you learn to question nothing (or is that EVERYTHING?).

I did try Stillpoints under my Giotto espresso machine for better crema but tweaks in the fridge?? Funny stuff.

I do think we can hear change in unexpected ways from things but am also not a fan of the idea that the seemingly better is therefore ultimately better let alone a seemingly default best.

The Sotm is currently out so all tweaking is temporarily moot for me... sigh, time to move to the Antipodes. NB though I would much prefer an Extreme but reality is my budgetary playing field doesn’t quite stretch that far... I really wish it did. Will have to write a reality cheque :(.

Unlike urban legend, these things never fall off lorries.

Good thing too, a broken Extreme is a useless Extreme.

Having seen pics inside both I think there’s much more chance of a broken Sotm than a broken Extreme... I’d almost pay the freight just for another glimpse inside that most beautiful box sigh :) I do love craftsmanship and elegance in design.

Hello,

I've replaced the original Duracell battery with a Energizer Lithium wich I received today and the sound is different, no doubt.

I listened a Chick Corea Trilogy II, an SHM CD, with both batteries and the differences are clearly perceptibles.

The sound with Energizer is more vibrant and the soundstage bigger and deeper but less focused.
Wit Duracell, the medium- highs piano harmonics may sound a bit harsh in some records but with Energizer the piano sound full beautifully and with a lot of harmonics.
I perceive the Brian Blade's drums performance much better and present, as well the Christian McBride bass notes.

I am happy and surprisedo_O:D

Then please try the La Diva with the Formula xHD dac.
(But DO NOT use the I2S cable included with La Diva. Get a better ethernet cable.)
This combo had surprised me!

i tried the La Diva with the original Aqua Formula dac and was impressed. i used a Sablon Panatella Ethernet cable and it seemed to make a positive difference. also; the La Diva was much better sitting on my Formula Dac which sat on the Herzan TS-150 active isolation. that was a big step up for the transport verses passive footers (Wave Kinetics A10 U8's) the stock footers for the La Diva were not good.

Eventually my frd and I got the Energizer lithium 9V battery!

View attachment 53240

How does it compare to Energizer alkaline 9V battery on Setchi?

I guess I may be talking too much on WBF for such a cheap tweak.
The Energizer lithium 9V battery is only usd8 per piece.
Pls buy one and try it yourselves.
You will be very happy!
:D
Just change the lithium 9V batteries for D2s and A2 for a few days.
More quietness and more details can be heard.Worth trying

Hello Emile,
A frd of mine in HK bought a new Setchi a few days ago.
It was loaded with this Duracell Industrial alkaline battery.
He said that it was very very close to the Energizer Lithium battery.

Thanks for your care!
You always respond quickly to feedbacks from customers.

Thank you for reporting!

Unfortunately we’re not allowed to ship with Lithium batteries but indeed it’s very close.
