Nice post and rather refreshing. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’m not surprised at all, as I am a user of industrial wires, cords, and outlets. I have not measured them, but I prefer them on a subjective basis because they do not seem to enhance the presentation.

This should be welcome news for us who always seem to complain about the high cost of everything in the hobby. I prefer high-quality industrial power infrastructure, and it happens to cost less. It is not a blanket recommendation because I do think one needs to listen and choose carefully to best meet his personal target and to achieve his goals in the hobby.

Well, the report is as neutral as any typical objectivist report on ASR. And sorry, its aim is mostly ridiculing audiophiles, focusing on manufacturers of power conditioners.

Unfortunately Mike Lavigne is abusively misquoted in this article. As an holder of the WBF copyright I think you should be more worried about it than in finding nice things to say about a basic and essentially anti audiophile article.

It's overall a very shallow dive into complex subject, but I didn't take it as necessarily "anti audiophile."

I do think it's relevant to question and challenge the fall-back stance so many audiophile products take of "we just use our ears." This strikes me as convenient way to sell us on the idea of "magic boxes."

One of the products cited in the article, the OnFilter emi filter, does show meaningful (as far as I can tell) measurements to back up the purpose of their product. I'm using one presently in my system to help address the emi my battery inverter produces. And my ears tell me it produces a more transparent sound in series after my battery/inverter/Torus.

Contrast OnFilter's no-nonsense presentation to the typical audiophile product marketing which is often evasive, ludicrous and insulting to our collective intelligence in my opinion.

Well, nice to know that an article misrepresenting companies such as Shunyata and their research, for example is not anti audiophile.

The whole article reduces all the mains supply affair to EMI supression up to a few MHz rejection in studio conditions. Any audiophile with decent ears knows it is a childish oversimplification.

The fact is that they are "magic boxes" like it or not. The EMC experts failed to explain us the existent differences in sound quality due to power conditioners - to avoid it they say they are non existent.

The data is surely relevant to their typical applications. As well as the data of thousands of similar filters. But it does not correlate with sound quality in typical audiophile conditions.

Do you realize that when you say that you prefer the sound of your Ching Cheng cables you are accepting that all these refreshing news you praise are saying your ears are wrong and you are victim of bias? According to this article, the excellent EMC filters included in your Lamm's - I studied them - should make your electronics insensitive to power cables!

I preferred my Ching Cheng cords to the stock CC cords supplied with my Pass Labs electronics. I preferred those stock CC cords with my Pass to the fancy power cords I tried on them. I have only heard the Lamm with the Ching Cheng that DDK supplied with them and have not compared them to other cables. Yes, I like saving money where I can, especially on things like fancy wires and cords. On one wanted to buy my Transparent Audio power box and power cords. I regret that purchase, as some others I have made over the years.
