New here, I haven't been in audiophile for long just a few years , but Life long music lover. Recently got back into having a "real" stereo since back in the 90's and early 2000's before life became mobile and everyone went to MP3 players and BT speakers.

I listen to all kinds of music, collect CD and LP play with cassettes a little and a bit of laserdisc and DVD,Bluray. nothing 4k. I have a humble salary and system , Sushi Chef

Pleased to meet you!

Or, should I say, welcome back!

You certainly create the best cuisine I can think of!

Which island?
Lanai

Thanks, I think I'll fit in here on this forum. More subjective open minded audiophiles here. Im just lower on the budget than what I mostly see here.

Nice too meet yall here.

Welcome to the forum.
There is a wealth of knowledge here, and I am sure you will be able to pick up some hints and tips on improving your system.
Keep your eyes and ears open for trickle down technology.
What was the “best” in years past is still very good and can be had for a reduced price as others have moved on to the “next great thing“.
Be patient, work on your room/speaker interface, and pay close attention to component matching.
Above all, have fun and enjoy it.

Fun is top priority.

Just upgraded my amp section. Actually hooked it up first time this morning. A well worth it upgrade...sonically noticeable immediately. Improved in every way. Upgraded a Schiit freya S preamp for a excellent condition Audio Research LS15....And upgraded my power amp from a little TEAC Ap505 to the larger TEAC AP701.

I have some consumer grade gear mixed in but I'll list the important gear that really makes the top end part of my 2-channel setup.

preamp - Audio Research LS-15
Power amp - TEAC AP-701
Turntable - Pro-ject X8
Phono stage - Pro-ject DS3b with battery supply
phono cartridge - Audio-Technica AT-33Sa
CDP / DAC - Rotel DT-6000
Main Speakers - Tekton Encore monitors with Beryllium tweeter upgrade
Stereo Subwoofers - Bowers and Wilkins ASW-608 "8" inch subs

The Subwoofers actually work great in the system but its the next thing I'd like to upgrade. , I'd like to get some large passive 15's or even 18's and use them also as bases for my Encore monitors that have pole mounts...power with a Yamaha PX10 or something like that, not exactly audiophile but no worse than a plate amp subwoofer IMO.
